And a time traveling one at that!

It is amazing how many of the 20th century European composers were time travellers and tapped on Horner's musical genius.

Avatar by James Horner

Prokofiev was probably the worst of the bunch. That thief! How dare he steal from Horner the original!

The ironic thing is that all of these "jokes", and I use the term lightly, have been made before....

The ironic thing is recycled Horner and Zimmer material is all we really have.

I'm sure the scarcity of female posters has been discussed ad nauseum. I've certainly done my share to make things uninviting. I'll try and convince a few people I know to join to make amends.

John Williamss groupies are too ashamed to reveal themselves, even in the anonymity of a message board.

The few women I've talked to who have visited said it's not really their thing.

Are forums, by their definition a man thing?

You're welcome to still want an apology from him

Good luck with that!

People who develop a sort of fetischistic obession with what, as far as I'm concerned, is a TV show aimed at girls under the age of 10 are either creepy or have suffered a stunted emotional development and are in many ways immature. Much like Michael Jackson never grew up because of physical and mental abuse suffered as a child.

If I were to meet this Basil would probably deduce in what catagory he falls in mere minutes. As it stands, my judgement remains open.

Though sexual predators are usually less eager to share, having a notion that what they are doing is wrong. Something our specimen here seems to lack.

If I were a brony, i certainly would not admit it on an open forum. Hell i'd admit to jacking off to tranny porn before doing that!

Wow, Stefan. It's like you skipped past reading all of my prior posts here so that you could validate your own lack of intelligence a third time. You might as well have admitted to being a Republican right-wing conformist, an entity that is far worse than being a brony (or transgendered, since you brought it up, as your usage of the word "tranny" (considered a defamatory slur by trans rights activists) proves you a member of the United States of Assholes™ by heart).

I think you meant to say "my judgement remains closed", as you obviously didn't bother to read any of the articles or listen to any of the music clips that I posted previously; you wouldn't be calling me creepy and a "sexual predator" (???) or my interest a "fetishistic obsession" had you actually done so.

It's not a TV show aimed at girls under the age of 10, it's aimed at everyone. I even dug out proof from one of the articles that you didn't bother reading:

For the new My Little Pony cartoon, Hub brought on Lauren Faust to write and direct. Faust, known for her work on The Powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and The Iron Giant, has a reputation for refusing the standards and stereotypes of modern cartoons and shows for girls. Faust has always hated that “girl” equates to “cute, pink, and cuddly” in modern entertainment. Girls never have entertaining shows because they’re always reserved for brushing hair, having makeovers and playing tea party. As a result of her approach, her past projects (Powerpuff Girls and Foster’s, especially) are very gender-neutral. Everyone watched them, everyone loved them, and we weren’t afraid to admit it.

When Faust sat down to work on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, she had a completely clean slate to do whatever she wanted with the IP. Knowing this, she threw out EVERYTHING and started from scratch. She didn’t want this show to pander to typical girl show standards. She wanted something that could be viewed and enjoyed by everyone, regardless of sex or age.

Here's another quote from Lauren Faust:

faust_defends_bronies.jpg

Oh look, I found even more evidence that a good show doesn't make me creepy, stunted, immature, or a sexual predator. Hell, why not just read this entire article that proves all of your points wrong while we're at it?

But I suppose it's too much to ask of some deadbeat American at your pitiful IQ level to take the time to read more than two paragraphs of content proving why watching MLP isn't wrong, so I fully expect you to keep spinning this debate to make *me* the bad guy based solely on your own stupidity. (also: your calling me "immature" yet your inability to see the bigotry in your own post, and calling me a "specimen" as if I'm somehow less valid of a human being just because you deem me as such. Totally not right-wing Republican behavior in action here.)

I've shown you my evidence and proof that MLP:FiM is a great show (again... because the first time didn't get through), so if you want to win this argument I expect you to provide YOUR evidence and proof that I'm a "pedophile" and a "sexual predator". Otherwise, stop talking out of your asshole and leave this discussion.

The specimen shows an interesting, if predictable strain of erratic behavior.

Once again it exhibits an almost obsessive dedication to "prove" that his opinions are valid by providing links and info from other sources. Going far beyond the point of reasonable sharing of info. This points to a deep insecurity. Trying to convince others of it's beliefs that it's passions and opinions are "normal" it is in fact trying to persuade itself that it's behavior does not fall in the category many would find weird, or even deviant.

The lack of structure shows a disorganized mind. Using parentheses within a sentence that's already in parentheses shows the subject has a limited sense in planning, and apparently an inability to observe and correct errors.

Furthermore the evidence displayed in it's posts shows a complete irony-defficiency, not uncommon in North American males, and a total inability to notice when it is being baited.

The subject, while presumably being of reasonable IQ, is obviously led primarily by it's child-like desire to be loved and accepted, and by obsessively trying to attain that, is unable to realize it is in fact turning potential interested people away from it. Not unlike a puppy in a shelter that barks and begs to loudly, is never picked up and eventually gassed.

While the research into the mind of the specimen has provided some limited anthropological interest, and some minor entertainment for it's own sake. Any subsequent follow-up research would presumably be futile since it would lead to a redundant replication of results.

On the new STAR TREK NEMESIS set between all the gloom and doom there is one hilarious audio tidbit, where Goldsmith introduces director Stuard Baird at the sessions to a big applause from orchestra and crew. After the applause has died down, Baird in a perfectly deadpan voice says 'Well, you haven't watched the movie, right?'

Lucas, Stefan is a Dutch (is that the right word for someone who lives in The Netherlands?), not an American. In fact I believe he has only visited the USA twice, and has lived his entire life in The Netherlands.

Anyways, there's no reason for you two to continue arguing about MLP and his name-calling in this thread. Take it somewhere else, or just drop it entirely.

Thank you.

John Williams - The Book Thief

Wow, this is a great little score, isn't it? I hadn't listened to this much yet, with all the Hobbit listening I've been doing lately.... But this a a very nice score with some great themes. I really enjoy the quiet guitar and piano passages. The entire OST flows terrifically despite being wildly out of any sense of chronological order. JW continues to write very thoughtful music so late in his career!

It's impossible to listen in chronological order without using a WAV editor to chop up the tracks. Almost every one has cues from 2 or 3 different parts of the movie smooshed together
