If not quite the equal of Lawrence and Zhivago, it comes close. A true epic the likes of which Hollywood no longer makes. Obviously if a non-Indian were cast in that role today social media would blow up, but it's hard to fault Ben Kingsley's brilliant, pitch perfect performance. Even though it leaves out some of the less attractive aspects of Gandhi's personality, this film remains one of the best bio pics ever made. 9/10 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
