His producers said in October that he’s still on WWZ2 with Pitt and they’re filming this June.

Unlucky Bastard 7,782
The Predator Did they rope Shane Black back into this franchise to Marvelise it? The final scene hints at it since Fox is being swallowed up by Disney anyway. There was a moment where I thought they were trying to link it to Prometheus with all that DNA stuff, but this movie isn't that smart. I felt sorry for the main guy's kid who couldn't cope with loud noises, he reminded me of me at my bleakest in the last seven months. I loved the predator doggie! bollemanneke 3,342
Jurassic World 2. I don't know. Part of me keeps wanting to watch every new entry in this franchise, but a bigger part of me is now wondering more than ever how many movies these characters still need before they finally realise that a career switch is their best option. Add to that that some of the characters in this one behaved so terribly predictable that I could guess every plot twist, except in Maisie's case. When are we getting Jurassic World: The Search For Blue? Luckily, the score was much better. I loved the emphasis on the choir, the references to Williams' main theme were spot on and that end credits re-recording of the island theme is fantastic. The whole suite is. A24 4,331
I can't believe Gus Van Sant made this movie. It's sentimental drivel. Righteously booed at Cannes! But the score (by Mason Bates) was good! It's a lyrical '80s score with lots of flute and strings. Woodwinds and harmony ... in this day and age! Sadly Spotify doesn't have the soundtrack. 3/10 Good! (not as good as The Theory Of Everything, though). Everybody raved about Rami Malek but I think I was more impressed with the actor that played Brian May. I mean, he simply is Brian May! IMO, Rami Malek never truly was Freddie Mercury. 7/

Sweeping Strings 2,352
Possibly categorising this as a movie is a stretch, but ... the US TV adap of Casino Royale from '54. As the first-ever bit of filmed Bond, this holds a certain fascination. Bond is a CIA agent, his contact at the casino is a 'Clarence Leiter' and Vesper and Mathis have been amalgamated into 'Valerie Mathis'. Peter Lorre's Le Chiffre comes across as more of a mobster than anything else. The ball-beating torture is unsurprisingly replaced with pliers being used on Bond's toes. There's not much of what you'd call action, it's undeniably 'stagey' and of its time and the whole shebang is over in less than an hour. Bits of Fleming are still discernible in this, even with all the changes. Not much point in comparing Barry Nelson's Bond to the rest of them, but he does get a couple of decent wisecracks. Without the colour, gunbarrel opening, theme music, M, Q, Moneypenny etc ... an intriguing Bond curio.
Unlucky Bastard 7,782
Pacific Rim: Uprising Pee-yoo! What a stinker. This is Independence Day: Resurgence level of bad. Maybe worse, because it was so friggin' boring. I have no clue how they can make a film at this budget with such stunning visuals, yet they approve such a boring, monotonous script. Goes to show how scriptwriting might very well be the most difficult part of filmmaking.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Superman: The Movie was playing in Amsterdam tonight. Decided to check it out. Still the best Superman film. I like how they actually didn't try to update the character and kept him as the world's biggest boyscout. The 1930/40's screwball comedy actually works to the films advantage. Its super endearing, it doesn't ask you to take it a too seriously. Which is good when you have a character running around in colourful spandex. What also works is the cast. Reeve sells both the hapless and clumsy Clark and does a fantastic Superman. He actually plays the role completely straight, and makes the "aw shucks" morality of the character wonderfully idealistic. An interesting thing to do in post Vietnam, post Watergate America. Also, despite not having the sculpted torso of later actors, Christopher Reeve is one hunk-o-man! Margot Kidder is great too and has genuine chemistry with Reeve. Their "date" is really romantic and Kidder hides well that her character has zero function without the lead actor. What a fun, timeless movie! Unlucky Bastard 7,782
Reeve embodies the character but I think Cavill had some costume improvements like the absence of the red undies and a longer and more majestic cape. But Reeve's outfit had better and more vivid colours.
