The Complete Cue Lists Thread

Just putting them in alphabetical order! But I knew someone would point that out. I'm gonna change it anyway, because actually, it bothers me too. :P

You could also order the whole list by year (maybe separated by the composer). Just a thought.

That's being to nitpicky. :P Having the scores in alphabetical order is fine. Although something like a series (Trek for example) should be in order of the film they were made (IE: TMP through Nemesis) since most of them were like 2 years apart from each other.

The 'End Credits' reel/part numbers are from the first film, as is the musical content. The last original cue in the film (Kirk Enterprises) is 8m54.

I originally considered listing the cue lists by composers when I started the thread. But then I thought I preferred having just one big list instead of multiple lists.

Maybe one day, when I'll find the motivation to do this.

Yikes. I didn't think Trent was supposed to post that, but now that he did, I suppose I can share my spreadsheet.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AjiRtgP4_o4TdGlDXzQzempvY09IX1lrZkdxbWNyeEE&output=html

As far as the specific list of cues you highlight goes, all are easy answers you can find on my spreadsheet. As for 12m2 and 12m6, AFAIK there is only 1 version of those cues.... I dunno why he listed revisions. I don't think my spreadsheet has any incorrect info on it.

Oop- didn't mean to put Trent on the spot; but thanks for sharing your spreadsheet after the fact

Looking at the list, and remembering the corresponding scenes from the film, now I get the in-joke behind 11m3a's title

A quick correction: 11m6 Bunny and Fire Drill and 12m1 Running The Halls definitely do appear in the film, as well as portions of 5m1 Subway Explosion and 13m6 Oh, Canada! in their respective scenes

There's no in joke, it's a direct relation to what happens in the scene!

And sorry, I meant no mistakes with listing all the slated cues and lining them up with LLL placement. The "used in film" column probably has some missing info, the score is a mess in the final cut!

As far as the specific list of cues you highlight goes, all are easy answers you can find on my spreadsheet. As for 12m2 and 12m6, AFAIK there is only 1 version of those cues.... I dunno why he listed revisions. I don't think my spreadsheet has any incorrect info on it.

Since LLL's set is an expanded release, I wonder what is actually missing. Nice work, by the way. In your list, Waltz Of The Bankers seems to consist of 9M3 and 8M3. Seems to be 8M2, though? Also, I'm sure 13M6 has been used (partially?) in the movie.

LLL labels all their releases as "expanded" rather than "complete", it doesn't mean anything is missing!

And I don't get what you mean about Waltz of the Bankers. The spreadsheet says the first part of the track is 9m2, not 9m3. And 8m2 and 8m3 are the same cue.

In most cases, there is stuff missing.

9M3 is a typo from me, I meant 9M2, so please forget that.

The spreadsheet lists for the cue 9M3 / 8M3 / 8M3. I guess that should mean 9M3 / 8M2 / 8M3 then. That is wanted I wanted to point out.

However, the segment, that underscores 8M3 isn't used in the track, so technically it's 9M3 / 8M2. Yes, 8M2/3 is a single cue, but I'm sure Kamen recorded them separately and on my sessions they are separate.

Now for a quickie, the first three tracks of Kraemer's score:

Since LLL's set is an expanded release, I wonder what is actually missing.

In terms of original score, we're missing a second 'wild' snare cue, plus a partial rescore of "Bank Invasion" that was heard in the film; there's a percussion cue heard during the confrontation in Harlem, but it's unclear whether it was composed by Michael Kamen, or Mark Mangini. All we can do is speculate whether this missing material is lost or simply not included on the CDs

"Waltz Of The Bankers" on the OST is definitely 9m2 "Aqueduct". I am not sure if the stuff for "Bank Invasion" is something they edited during post production when they re-sequenced some of the shots. There was a lot of editing going on in the film after Kamen had scored it.

2. One post = one cue list. Not more. Once again, that'll be easier for everyone if it is that way.

You should keep the ROTK one in your post. FunnyML already started a FOTR cue list here: http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20819&page=10#entry978977

If he sees this (I'm sure he will, since he's the most regular member in this thread :P), he could update his post to add the cue titles you found and he'll credit you there.

So basically, for the time being, keep it that way. Once FunnyML has updated his post with your additional info, you can edit yours to keep only the ROTK stuff.

Or maybe LeBlanc could do all that and save us a lot of trouble. ;)

P.S.: The Live to Projection score doesn't seem to have the correct slate numbers (well, to be more precise, they don't seem to be slate numbers). For example, in FunnyML's list, M4 is The Shire, while 4a is The One Ring in your list.

Oops, Sorry about that, the fact that it was only a partial list kinda threw me off (plus the fact that I have not read the first post for a long time ;) )

And I do agree that the FOTR stuff does not seem to be slates, but there are some unique titles (The One Ring etc.), so I posted them anyways

Wow! thank you Jim! Interesting that Shore used Tolkien languages for some titles, I used the same "trick" when I needed to come up with Tolkien sounding track titles for my 2-Disc Hobbit trilogy-style album edits.

OK, so what I did was put The Lord Of The Rings: Live To Projection (since these aren't the "real" cue titles and slate numbers) in the main list, and linked to Jim's post and I credited both Fal and Jim in the main post.

I think you can just keep the first three numbers after MR. The rest is for the day the cue was recorded, etc.

Jim, the "cue" called Entre' Acte in your ROTK list, is it various pages of sheet music edited to create a piece of music to start the second part?

It's interesting to note what is considered a 'piece' of music too; things get longer and longer as the trilogy goes on.
