The Complete Cue Lists Thread

Recommended Posts

But this isn't a thread where we make up our own titles, it's a thread where we share all know actual internal information....

I love how your attempted correction has grammar issues. Consider revising.

The HBP Cue List also has issues and inaccuracies... Consider revising.

What BloodBoal said. It's just like "Tuba Duet" which was labeled as "Tube Duet" in the thread for the HP6 leak. If anyone has a good reason to think either of these titles aren't typos, I'll change my posts, but I'm not just making titles up like that one guy did...

"The Boy Who Lied?" is on a newspaper in that scene, so it is most likely not a typo in this instance.

Even if there are typos, I think you should leave them. We can always correct them if we make our own edits, but the idea is to give the actual cue titles here, even if that means there are misspellings.

By the way, there are a great many typos in all sorts and forms that composers/orchestrators etc. make. There's no clear line to be drawn.

Your post offers no reasons to change any of the titles back. In fact, I fail to see why it exists other than to return snark for snark.

Ah, ok. I've fixed the title in my post.

I understand the idea well enough, thank you. I also believe that many of these typos were introduced by the bootleggers and not by anyone involved in the actual scoring process. Whatever.

In the future, I'll just post lists as I find them and make a note at the bottom about any suspected typos I've noticed.

About Harry Potter 5

-2m1 is DEFINITELY "The Boy Who Lied". That's what it says on the newspaper in the scene

-"Occlumency" is 6m3A, not 6m3

-The list is missing 6m4 Fireworks

-The list is missing 6m5 Sirius

-The list is missing 8m3b Possession (Yes, there are two cues both slated 8m3b)

This.

Of course, in certain cases, we know the typo is the composer's fault (Williams writing "Vadar" instead of Vader in the title of many cues for ESB), but more often than not, the typo was made by the guy who released the recording sessions. The only way to be sure, of course, still is to check the cue sheets (if they are available).

Anyway, in this particular case, "lied" is definitely not a typo, given what is shown in the scene. But no need to come at amh1219 like that! The guy doesn't deserve that! He was just trying to do the right thing!

Yes, it was snark. :P

Very well, here is my breakdown. Items in bold are fixed (or added due to some cues being missing) and Titles are all from the official listing on ASCAP, several of the titles on that cue list were just made up:

1m01 Opening and Death Eater Attack
1m01-Insert Tuba Duet
1m02 Dumbledore's Arrival
1m03 Apparate
1m06 Budleigh Babberton
1m07 Repair
1m08 Slughorn
1m09 Bye Bye Horace
2m10 Ginny
2m11a Snape Vow
2m11b Wizard Wheezes
2m12 Diagon Alley
2m13a The Train Again
2m13b Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder
2m14a Malfoy Stamps on Harry
2m14b Wrackspurts / Luna Finds Harry
2m15a
2m15b In Noctem (Dumbledore's Speech)
2m15c Corridor
2m15c Corridor (Film Version) [Tracked from 4m20a]
3m16 Felix Felicies Pt 1
3m17 Living Death
3m18a Memories / Pensieve
3m18b Young Riddle
3m18c Dumbledore's Office Pt 1
3m19a Malfoy
3m19b Quidditch Practice
4m20a The Book
4m20b 3 Broomsticks
4m20c Katie Bell
4m21 Necklace
4m22 The Dinner Party
4m23 After the Dinner Party
4m25 Quidditch Match
4m26 Harry and Hermione / School Life
5m28 Malfoy's Mission
5m29 Slughorn's Christmas Party
5m30a
5m30b Train / X-Mas
5m31 Weasley Workshop / Weasley House
5m32 Rushes Pt 1-3
5m33a Pensieve
5m33b In Noctem (Dumbledore's Foreboding)
5m34
6m35
6m36a Ron Ron
6m36b Ron's Poison
6m36c Hospital
6m37 Katie Bell Returns
6m38
6m38b
6m39 When Ginny Kissed Harry
6m40 Felix Felicies Pt 2
Harry on Felix Pt 1 [Tracked]
Harry on Felix Pt 2 [Tracked from 4m20a]
7m41 Aragog's Funeral
7m42 Confession
7m43 Horcrux Tom Riddle
7m44 In Noctem (Dumbledore's Office Pt 2)
8m45a To the Cave Pt. 1
8m45b To the Cave Pt. 2
8m46 Dumbledore Drinking
8m47 Inferi and Fire
8m47b In Noctem (Death Eaters Arrive Pt 1) / Death Eater Arrive Pt 2
8m48 Killing Dumbledore Pt 1
8m48b Killing Dumbledore Pt 2 / In Noctem (After)
9m49 Dumbledore's Farewell
9m51 Fawkes
9m52 The Weasley Stomp
Also, not sure what's going on with "Fawkes", according to sheet music it is 9m49, not 9m51.
Additionally, there are a few film versions that are impossible to get and appear to only exist in the film mix. Example:
1m01 Opening and Death Eater Attack: The film version drops out all percussion at 2:29 for a couple of phrases and then brings it all back for the last few phrases at the end.
2m11b Wizard Wheezes: The film version uses Fireworks, but requires the film version from OOTP (the one without the guitar) to do correctly, which we don't have. The credit rip from HBP will be serviceable, but not quite enough to edit it properly.
EDIT: 3m19b Quidditch Practice: Most of this cue is tracked from "Recruits" and "End Title" from OOTP. However, the opening of the cue drops out the orchestra and begins with the isolated timpani before bringing the orchestra back in.
4m23 After the Dinner Party: The film version of this cue appears to track the solo flute from Confession, but brings in the Orchestra in the end. They really took advantage of ProTools for this score. xD
The other film versions are pretty easy to do with some simple editing.

Can you link to the ASCAP listing?

Not sure if I can. They're not like BMI. The search and catalogue area is all it's own thing. Regardless of where you go in the catalogue you still have the same URL: https://www.ascap.com/Home/ace-title-search/index.aspx

If you want to check out the cue titles for yourself (There are a few that I didn't list, because they either aren't included or I have no idea where they belong) simply click the Writer tab, search Nicholas Hooper, and click the first entry. The cues are not all under "Half-Blood Prince" unfortunately so they're alphabetically spread throughout his catalogue, but they're easy to point out by using the work ID. For example:

3 BROOMSTICKS

Work ID: 880553623

So, just Ctrl+F and have your browser highlight everything with the first few digits of the work ID: 88055

Or, here's the list without the Work IDs if you'd rather not go through all that trouble. This excludes OST titles or cues from OOTP (a few of those were mixed in there. Ex: "Going to Hagrid's") I am inclined to believe that some of these title refer to cues that were tracked. Hooper has new entries for tracked cues (Ex. "The Boy Must Die" which is just "Dumbledore's Farewell" tracked into Deathly Hallows II):

WRACKSPURTS - LUNA FINDS HARRY

YOUNG RIDDLE

Going over these again made me realize that there is yet another small cue missing:

4m24 Ron Takes The Drink

It's possible it was tracked though from one of the Felix Felicies cues. If not, it's on the OST, merged with "Quidditch Match" it is microedited a bit, but I think you can use the first part of the End Credits from Half-Blood Prince to fix it.

In this case, I think I'll link to your list, because it is more complete and even if some titles may be wrong, FunnyML's list is just below yours, so I'm sure people who will check yours will see FunnyML's too (while they may not see your list if I link to FunnyML's).
