"The Accidental Tourist" - The missing swashbuckler cue!

Hi, folks!

You already know me as an expert on the occult, and - how does one say it? -

obtainer of rare antiquities.

Today I present you the unreleased cinema cue from "The Accidental Tourist".

It's a great swashbuckler cue and could be straight out of "Temple of Doom" or

"Hook". It appears as source music when William Hurt, Geena Davis and her

son are sitting in a movie theatre, watching a pirate or adventure film. Obviously

an in-joke aiming towards the Indiana Jones people, but specifically composed

for the film by John Williams.

The original cue is supposed to be 40 seconds long (quoting FSM). This is just

the edited version as heard in the film. As the scene involves jump-cuts, it's not

without interruption.

Better than nothing, I hope!

Yeah, I remember noticing that while I watched the film. Would have been nice to have as a bonus track on the CD (although I wouldn't let it interfere with the mood of the rest of the score....it would be terribly out of place in the middle of the album program).

Well, Thor is right, you know?

Even in its complete form the cue wouldn't fit anywhere on the official album edit,

without destroying the mood. Probably the reason they left it out back in 1988.

For Williams fans it's fun, though!
