In a way, Star Wars was already dead when they made the Ewok movies

in 1985/86, when it turned into this ugly franchise sort of thing.

The prequels (and the whole discussion) were just thriving on the hope

that - with some luck and some genius - Star Wars could be resurrected.

And we watched the stuff because we just WANTED the stuff to be as

good as the saga we've grown up with.

Some might even say that the shit hit the fan with ROTJ.

In any case, SW is dead. And it has been dead for at least 25 years.

Come on. Why do we lie to ourselves.

Watch something else.

Disney releases Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

Me: So this is how Star Wars dies. With thunderous applause.

How did it die? Drugs? Was it drugs? A heroin overdose?

Was it apathy?

Was it raped and murdered?

Type 2 diabetes?

Too many skin tags?

Someone tell us please.

This, I guess.

By who? Was it Lucas?

I bet it was Lucas.

Maybe it was Burke Ramsey, JonBenet's brother.

Yeah he did it.

Do younger people get this reference?  Is the case still infamous if you weren't alive for the television craze around it?

No, it was his producer, Rick "Yes Man" McCallum.

As I am frequently told here I am an old man. I don't know what you young people think. I am just a piece of living history.

I meant the users who are 10+ years younger than even me!  I vividly remember the television hysteria surrounding her throughout the 90s.

I just thought it made great white trash tv.

I look forward to the new trilogies. But Star Wars without John Williams is a fundamentally different experience. It’s like Der Ring des Nibelungen without Richard Wagner.

lol what if Hans Zimmer wrote the ring cycle...

It's not like they'll be real Star Wars
