After Mayuzmui's The Bible, complete Masada, Batman Forever, Hook and with the Quo Vadis re-recording coming out this year, there aren't many more Holy Grails. Apart from the JW usual suspects, I'd add:

Batman and Robin (Goldenthal)

More volumes of Batman: The Animated Series

Mulan

Obsession (a re-recording would be great)

A Place in the Sun (preferably a re-recording as well)

Complete 1492: Conquest of Paradise

Not much more left, I reckon

After Hook and Quo Vadis are released....

The Ten Commandments - Bernstein

Prisoner of Azkaban - Williams

And that's really it. I'll continue buying stuff that seems interesting just like I buy non holy grails now, but those are the last scores that I really want.

I have a feeling The Ten Commandments will be one of the final 4 FSMs

I expect the Azkaban recording sessions to leak sometime soon. I can't imagine Warner Brothers getting their act together for a legit release any time in the next 20 years

The Ten Commandments would be a nice Easter release.

That and Ron Jones' DuckTales are my last two holy grails, but I'll gladly buy the cool stuff that still comes along.

The Lion King (Hans Zimmer)

DuckTales TV series (Ron Jones)

That's all (now that Hook's coming!). There are many other scores I'd love to have in complete form, but can live without them if these two are announced. :)

Hmmm I will try to make this short LOL.

The Hunt for Red October

Predator 2

Starship Troopers

Star Trek: TMP

Star Trek: FC

Star Trek: Insurrection

Star Trek: Nemesis

Hook (coming soon!)

Batman & Robin

Depends on the individual person, of course. For me I guess I am really listing my current "Most Wanted" titles, which is a rolling list that changes as things get released.

my holy grail list consists of films only, there are not any scores out there I must have complete.

well I know my collection is a hell of a lot smaller than many people here but it's still more than I can/will ever listen too in my remaining 40 years or so.

TMP complete, American Werewolf in London, ESB/ROTJ in better sound, Conan the Barbarian (film tracks), Ratatouille complete, Batman & Robin, The Fog (film tracks).

I predict 2 of those will be released this year

Thankfully, most of the titles on my holy grail list have been made available through unofficial means, e.g. King Kong, Air Force One, Avatar, ST: First Contact etc...

Obviously, I'd love a proper release of the prequals, but at least we have the game music to fill in the gaps until that happens. The five titles that are currently major holy grails for me are:

- The Lost World

- Tintin

- The Last Airbender (with choir restored as per film version)

- Jurassic Park (especially T-Rex chase - should NEVER have been left off the OST, and the short choral piece accompaning the close-up of the amber at the beginning)

- Predator 2

I would also love Goldsmith's Star Trek scores from the 90s and 00s get the proper LLL treatment (I suspect it's only a matter of time).

What do you guy think are the chances of getting The Lost World released any time soon??

I say what I always say -- any completely unreleased titles by Williams, Elfman and Goldenthal would be nice.

I have no desire for any expansions or reissues of any kind.

Wait a minute?

What about remastered re-issues of scores that are long OOP, without expansions?

OK, maybe that.

But still, I'd much rather have the completely unreleased stuff.

8. The Hunt For Red October

People just fill in new things untill finally "Daddy O" and "Gidget Goes To Rome" are holy grails?

I'm sure there's some people that they already are...

I've never been much of a grail list person, just enjoying releases as they come. Certainly I want the rest of the Star Treks, and they will be coming. Dracula is my #1 Williams, but I sure want more of the big blockbuster scores to come out too. Robin Hood: Prince of Theives is another one I'd love to see.

Yea I'd love to see an expanded Robin Hood. 2012 seems to be The Year Of Kamen so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets released

This has been my list for the last 3-4 years; no particular order:

Gladiator: Nope (Zimmer hoarders are assholes - it's been 12 years)

Sleepy Hollow: Nope (I have hope that LLL is working on this)

Jurassics (one of the labels has to be working on these)

Planet Earth (almost - the blu-ray isolated score has sfx)

The Edge - YAY!

Breakdown - YAY!

Dante's Peak - Varese - my confidence is not high.

Signs - Nope. Not much missing from the OST, but I still want the whole thing dammit! Every other M.Night is leaking.

Spidey 3 - umm.... yeaahhh. Who do we need to bribe in the knights' templar to get this one leaked?

Here is my top 5 I posted on another thread:

1) Andy Price's Robin Hood (give me this one, and I'll die a happy man) - Fuck. No hope of seeing this one ever being released (or the recording sessions leaking)

Have you tried contacting Andy Price? You never know - he may own the rights to the music.

I too hope LLL (or any of the labels) is working on Sleepy Hollow. I watched the movie last year for the first time in a decade and enjoyed the music more than I had remembered, and I believe some of the parts that stood out to me were not on the OST or Elfman/Burton boxset.

I truly hope more Spielberg/Williams collaborations are in the works but those seem to take the longest to come out so you never know. Hopefully 1941 and Hook paved the way for more to happen.

1. Fly Away Home (Isham)

2. The Ten Commandments (Bernstein)

3. King Kong (Shore)

4. Obsession (Herrmann)

5. Dracula (Williams)

6. Captain Blood -- Complete re-recording (Korngold)

Re-issues of stuff I didn't have a chance to grab the first time around:

1. The Robe (Newman)

I was just starting to collect when this went OOP. Eight years later, and I still haven't been able to find this for anything in the remote vicinity of a decent price.

2. Night Crossing (Goldsmith)

This is my favorite Goldsmith score; I have the older issue, but the sound isn't the greatest.

Not all at once though, please! My wallet would...not be pleased.

We have gotten a lot these past few years.

I'll buy anything with John Williams' name on it, but when it comes to holy grails:

- Sugarland Express

- Daddy-O (wanted for historic reasons and because at least the "main title" cue is great)

- Harry Potter

- SW prequels

- Polar Express

I'd also love a reissue of Fitzwilly.

Almost everyone but myself seems to list stuff that is already out there in some form or fashion (even though they aren't sufficient representations for you).

No one has any craving for scores that have had no release whatsoever?

I'd be happy with a release of Batman and Robin, but to be honest I can't think of very many completely unreleased scores that I'm dying to obtain.

The original recordings for The Thief of Baghdad maybe, and some Rózsa noir scores, but apparently many of them simply no longer exist as far as I know.

Definitely agree on BATMAN & ROBIN. Sadly, Goldenthal didn't say anything about an upcoming release of that when I talked to him in October last year. So all we have now is the single track on the songtrack, as well as 2CD bootleg with atrocious sound (that goes up and down in volume). I'd love to see a release of the 50-minute program he originally conceived for album release back then.

I would like a legit Batman & Robin too. Also, I am pretty sure the single track in the soundtrack was actually from Batman Forever.

I'm thinking that I can agree with Thor too on the 50 minute program for this score, or at the very least include it on a complete set. I believe it was designed to highlight the new material in the score, so in a way it's really all we need. Hopefully something will develop for this score in the future, though I'm not holding my breath for it..

If it's gonna be a 50 minute condensed album, it better not cost more than $15. I ain't spending full LLR or Intrada price for a limited amount of music, no matter how much love, care, and interest in a musical experience the composer put into it. That's half fast.

It was designed with the new material in mind, yes, and not so much of the stuff from BATMAN FOREVER.
