Romney likes Zimmer, Obama likes Williams

If there's one group of citizens that seem to be constantly neglected in American politics, it's the film music fans. With all major corporations (i.e. Sony) not caring about anything other than profit, and all specialty labels investing what narrow profits they earn in new projects, soundtrack fans have been unable to build up a powerful lobby, and have been unable to enact major change in policy or politicians.

But for the first time in the history of America, film score fans are being offered a massive contrast in presidential candidates in terms of film music policy.

It's no secret that Barack Obama likes John Williams--Williams wrote "Air and Simple Gifts" for the inauguration (even if that was only because of Yo Yo Ma), he scored a short film for the 2008 Democratic National Convention, and Obama gave Williams a medal in 2011.

But this year reporters revealed Mitt Romney's radical position on the issue:

Mitt himself will have a major impact on this year’s World Cup; he picked the music that the Romneys’ horse Rafalca will dance to (a selection of songs from the sountracks of “Rainman” and “The Mission.”)

Some Williams fans would go as far to say that Mitt Romney may be the anti-Williams. Do we really want to replace a Williams fan with a Zimmer fan this November? The choice is yours.
