wanner251 17
Hey, I'm sure that one of our moderators has some hard data on this. Does anyone know how long on average it usually takes JW to score a film? Do we have any production note spreadsheets that match up films he has scored and how long he has taken on each one? I realize that there is kind of a traditional average amount of time when it comes to Hollywood handing off the film to the composer. Seems to be about a month or less... but I was just wondering if there are any production notes that have start and finish dates for the projects. It's more of a curiosity thing than a practical request. Any ideas?

Quintus 5,399
Depends on the foreplay.I always thought the writing process begins proper during post production and takes up to two months on average, sometimes writing right up to the last minute. Well, according to poor old James Horner - forever hard done by and unappreciated. Ren
Jilal 569
I saw an interview for Attack of the Clones and it took George and John 7 weeks of talks and it took him an additional 3 months to write that particular score.Yes, usually 3-4 months.
