Miguel Andrade 1,262
The last couple of concertos have been somewhat revised versions. Does anyone have information regarding this one? Is it revised in any way?The Violin Concerto wasn't a new revision, as it used the final 1988 version of the score. Only the Cello Concerto was a premiere of a newly revised version. As for yesterday's performance, there were a few passages that sounded different from what I recall, but I haven't heard the Bassoon concerto in a while.Nevertheless it was an amazing performance and I'm looking forward to the upcoming Naxos release. Tom 4,640
Wasn't the horn concerto also revised somewhat? Either way, I am happy we are getting these new performances. I will be even happier when they record the clarinet concerto, as that is the one for which I lack a suitable recording.
scissorhands 16
Wasn't the horn concerto also revised somewhat? Not that I know of. They've been playing the very same published version elsewhere. He did revise the concerto after the premiere, but that one was never published.
