And it doesn't feel as "cynical" as the Rozsas

The film's nowhere near as cynical as Ben-Hur is either.

I too am beyond excited for this score. To me, this is about as exciting as getting a complete Indy or Harry Potter score would be.

It's sort of like how hopeful and "uncynical" Horner's Wrath of Khan score was, maybe because like Horner, Bernstein was pretty young and early in his career when he did Ten Commandments.

I'd say

Discs 1-3 = mono complete film score

Disc 4 = alternates and bonus tracks

Disc 5 = Elmer's 1959 stereo rerecording for DOT Records

Disc 6 = recording of the silent film score

The immortal words of Dathan:

"For a 3-CD release, I'll give you the wealth of Egypt. Give me 4 discs, and I'll give you the scepter. Give me 5, and I'll give you the princess of your heart's desire. Give me 6, and I'll give you the throne. Give me all that I ask... or give me leave to bootleg."

So I guess the clamshell holding the 3 beige CDs is the original film recordings.

The red jewel case / disc has the cover artwork from f the 1956 DOT 2LP which contained the original film recordings in mono.

The blue jewel case / disc has the cover artwork from the 1959 1hour  stereo re-recording Elmer did for DOT Records

And the final yellowish cover / disc has the artwork from the 1966 28minute stereo re-recording Elmer did for United Artists LP.

Learning that it can be more terrible to live than to die, WojinPA is driven onward through the burning crucible of JWFan, where holy men and prophets are cleansed and purged for God's great purpose, until at last, at the end of human strength, beaten into the dust from which he came, the metal is ready for the Maker's hand.

Delayed until September 6th

And here comes the bad news. April Fools!! No, I jest. The release is real. But I just heard from the plant this morning that the slip case with the fancy gold foil lettering for the title will take an extra TWO WEEKS. So, I apologize for the late breaking disappointing news, but I will try to give out additional info to help us all get through two more weeks of waiting.

This thing is making Duke Nukem Forever look like an amateur.

Duke Nukem Forever was not worth waiting for. The Ten Commandments is.

Damn!  Guess I can stop going through the URLs now :P

Where'd you get the track titles?  I didn't think the tracklist had been release yet?

EDIT: Nevermind again, you downloaded them and looked at the metadata, right?

I simply clicked on the m3u file, and WinAmp began playing every file, showing me the titles *shrug*

I haven't used Winamp since 2001 or something.  I didn't even know it was still a supported application.

The last time I used it, it still looked like this.  I assume it's been upgraded since then!

Looks like the complete score is so long, it fills up Disc 1 and 2 and then ends 4 tracks into disc 3.  The rest of disc 3 is bonus tracks, and then

disc 4 = 1956 mono 2LP
disc 5 = 1959 stereo 2LP
disc 6 = 1966 United Artists LP
