  1. 1. Where do you predict the Episode 7 score will be recorded?

    • John Williams will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in London
    • Another conductor will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra in London
    • John Williams will conduct the London Symphony Orchestra during their tour of the US
    • John Williams will conduct a Los Angeles based orchestra

Oh give me a break. You and your semantics.

I'm clearly asking where you PREDICT it will be recorded.

Stop being so pedantic.

So it's official, JW is recording with the LSO?

Has either John Williams or the LSO stated categorically, on the record? I think not... it's just hearsay and rumour at this point, until and if such a time etc etc.

That being said, there's been no flat-out denials, but that's not exactly conclusive proof.

I wonder how many people checked on Twitter just to be 100% sure it was a joke (not to mention those who actually bought it).

Loving the Oscars2016 tag!

I don't know why Williams is entertaining the notion that TFA will be nominated for an Oscar. His last Star Wars score nomination was over 30 years ago!

I certainly hope Williams conducts the LSO. It's tradition. You could say it's a minor thing but for me the LSO is synonymous with Star Wars music. There would be nothing wrong with any other orchestra doing it as long as it is of quality but knowing that the LSO is doing it would give it an extra bit of magic for me.

I'm not all that excited for this score if it's going to be mostly bombast. Yawn.

Just out of curiosity, did you like Tintin?

As Mr. Big inexplicably remembers, I really only like the main titles.

After the mostly sub-par KOTCS performance, I have trouble trusting LA/Hollywood based orchestras for major John Williams scores like this.

LOL

Interesting, I don't necessarily agree but it would have been very interesting to have the whole score follow in that particular direction. I'm somewhat hoping for more of that for Bridge of Spies.

After the mostly sub-par KOTCS and Tintin scores, I just hope TFA sounds nothing like those.

I hope it sounds like Rosewood meets Jurassic Park.

Anything as exciting as the Tuba, Horn or Trumpet concerto would be good.

The only thing which gave it away was the "'Tis".

Because Star Wars is normally underscored with atonal minimalist restraint.

Knock that fake hipster lark on the head, Pilg. It causes real yawns.

I was joking myself. Maybe I should have used a face. ;)

You're in an odd mood lately, so I'm not gonna bother. Cheer up.

I mean, I've known users here to do that sort of thing. Just not TheGreyPilgrim. But I suppose I could have missed it in the past, I don't visit too many threads.
