Trevor Rabin? Really?

No OWNER OF A LONELY HEART? No CINEMA? No CITY OF LOVE? No SHOOT HIGH AIM LOW? Rubbish! Do it again, laddie!

He, he....

I did attend the Yes concert afterwards, though, where they played some of their biggest hits (including "Owner", which is basically the only chart hit they ever had). And the wonderful "I Am Waiting", which we talk about in the episode.

Celluloid Tunes # 59: The 10 Best Scores of 2018 (20th International Edition)

Well, the title gives it away. Go click the episode to see the selection (or preferably hear the whole 1-hour episode; it's in English):

Don't know about "very weak", but yeah -- not quite as strong as the previous years we've done these shows, IMO.

The interesting thing is that I had no room for fan favourites like BLACK PANTHER, FIRST MAN etc. in my list, as I was simply not impressed by them.

Celluloid Tunes contributor Mark Burgess selects his OWN favourites of 2018  in a companion piece to our webcast episode (and probably closer to this year's fan favourites than our episode was):

I thought about it, but ultimately found it a little insensitive at this time. Plus, people are already getting enough pandemic stuff through the media and their social media feeds.

That being said, I do intend to use the time to create more content. I've been more or less out of comission for three weeks, due to a stomach virus I contracted in Berlin (no, not Corona), but I'm getting better, so hopefully I'll start writing articles, reviews, perhaps even a podcast next week, about other things.

I've had the soundtrack since 2013, and never particularly thought of LEGENDS, no. But I can sorta get why Broxton thought that way.

Cool. Is Vangelis one of the guests?

I wish! Next to John Williams, he is the living composer with whom it is the most difficult to get an audience.

Vangelis' best work is without a shadow of a doubt Mythodea.

Indeed. We fawn over both of them in the podcast.

To be fair, I like it more than the totally abstract 'musique concrete' of something like BEAUBORG or INVISIBLE CONNECTIONS. But just barely.
