On musical terms, I'd have no problem. In political terms.... ugh.

I want to see a FYC for The Lone Ranger, but I have a feeling Disney isn't going to put anything from TLR forward for serious consideration...

As it should, right? Don't forget what J. Bryan Lowder wrote in Slate:

[T]he 12 Years score represents a further iteration of a bold, cinematic signature sound that Zimmer has been crafting for years. To my ear, Zimmer ... works much like a sculptor of sugar, coaxing the most fantastic shapes and colors out of very basic materials.

Hans more or less wrote about 10 minutes of music, not sure how that will sit with the Academy, particularly with the other composers involved, but they've done more ridiculous things in the past.

The movie is brilliant, so I'm sure that'll give the music a push.

What full length score? There's some original source music, two pieces that I recognized by Zimmer and I think a couple other cues by someone else.
