Yaaaaaay!

Twilight Time just announced Cinderella Libery (1973) (with probably the Williams score included as an iso score).

This film was a very nice surprise to me, I remember loving it!

release date: july 17th

It's a good film, with typical 70s grit. Good to see it getting the BD treatment, if nothing else for Vilmos Zsigmond's great cinematography.

If the iso score is included there's a chance we'll also get a CD release this year.

But we already have a complete release, don't we?

oh, i see it's the album presentation.

By the way, the iso score was available long ago in the DVD release too.

Although the film versions of certain tracks differ from the album versions, there's not a lot of unreleased music, for those who crave such things. It's a pretty comprehensive OST to begin with.

The unreleased music is about 25 minutes. (but most of it sounds like source music)

And not the cool source music, which is already on the soundtrack!

Tom Sawyer (along with Huckleberry Finn in the same release) is on sale at half price for $15 at SAE until the end of the month, in case anyone is interested.

Just a note that the theatrical cut of The Patriot is available in UHD in a 4K remaster, and is getting glorious reviews!

Pity the accompanying bluray is the old extended cut.

Arrowfilms has a summer sale, so now it's your chance to grap the exquisite  IMAGES for 10 pounds:

https://arrowfilms.com/product-detail/images-blu-ray/FCD1709

According to DVDbeaver it's Region Free:

In other news Kino Lorber in USA has announced that it will bring Nixon on Bluray.

Hope it's the theatrical cut this time since the existing edition is the extended cut and I don't see any reason of releasing that one again.

Wow! I think that's the first time a niche label has re-released a live-action title controlled by Disney. Maybe Disney lost the rights...

Hopefully we get the theatrical cut of JFK on BD someday, even on an overseas release

I don't know if this has been already posted elsewhere--Hook is being released on Blu-ray with a new 4K transfer from the camera negative. There will be also 11 (eleven) deleted scenes included as bonus:

Quote

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray Steven Spielberg's Hook (1991), starring Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams, Julia Roberts, Bob Hoskins, and Maggie Smith. The release will be available for purchase on October 9.

Hook is fully restored in 4K from the original camera negative, with approval on the 4K High Dynamic Range master from director Steven Spielberg. In addition, the film features exclusive Dolby Atmos audio for maximum impact and includes 11 never-before-seen deleted scenes—a rare treat for fans and newcomers alike.

Wow this is great! Nice to see someone able to snatch those titles that Disney won't ever touch.

It's already on Blu-ray (the director's cut, at least)

The dreaded ""director's"" cut only" Blu-ray release (ie the theatrical cut + irrelevant, pacing killing deleted scenes haphazardly thrown in by some producer).

Oh, I don't know; I'd make a case for the Sam Waterston scenes

Twilight Time announced The paper chase (1973) for April, with probably an isolated score included.

Cool! It's a very uneven film. Has some 70s grittiness while at the same time some weird, seemingly out-of-place comical moments. And one of the most unsympathetic film characters I've ever seen in James T. Hart (Timothy Bottoms). Lovely little score, interspersed with the classical music, and the FSM release presents it well.

The Paper Chase from TT is cancelled!

It's coming from another label, but we don't know which. (so, no iso score option unfortunately)

In other news, Nixon theatrical cut is released for the first time on Bluray by Kino, on May 21st, in a 3 disc set that will contain both cuts

Which cut of Nixon is better?

I'm not sure about this film as I don't know it so well, but I usually prefer the theatrical cut, as there's a reason for cutting some scenes in the first place.

I'm biased towards the Director's Cut, since that's the version I grew up watching, and it does restore all of Sam Waterston's scenes (I think it also might have additional music by Williams). But for first-timers, since the theatrical cut already runs over three hours, I would recommend that version first.
