Kendal_Ozzel 36
So in addition to Intrada, Lady and the Tramp is now available on SAE and moviemusic.com, and probably others. There's a listing on Amazon too, but you can't order it yet.

Balahkay 627
It's disappointing they aren't giving the classic scores the complete treatment. Oh, well... at least the Renaissance scores are getting expanded.

Datameister 2,037
On the one hand, it'll be a fantastic all-in-one sort of set for anyone who's new to collecting Disneyland music. All the music included is wonderful. It's just completely redundant for anyone who's already been buying Disneyland albums for a while.

Giftheck 916
Like I said ,it seems to be the newer scores getting the better treatment. Their masters are easier access, I'd be willing to wager.
LongTallJodie 59
Bleh. Nothing on that Disneyland album I don't already own on two, three, or ten different CDs. Even its use of some "vintage" cuts like the Rainbow Caverns music isn't unique: the album is basically just the 50th Anniversary 2-disc with DCA tacked onto the end. Datameister 2,037
Yep. It's rather understandable when it comes to some of the stuff - I mean, it's pretty hard to release a Disneyland soundtrack without including things like "Yo Ho" or Soarin'. And even the inevitable reuse of specific existing ridethrough edits makes sense...it costs time and money to do a fresh edit, and they've already got very listenable versions to work with. I get it. But then you've got area BGM loops like Carthay or Fantasyland or Bug's Land, where there's dozens of different pieces to choose from, and they've just gone with the ones they've already released. Same goes for attractions like Star Tours or Luigi's or Midway Mania - there are plenty of unreleased songs that are equally representative of those rides and that would work equally well as part of an album listening experience, but they've chosen the stuff that they've already released. That's where I'm baffled. Although, again, my wallet is relieved, because I certainly have no reason to buy this set.

Their masters are easier access, I'd be willing to wager. You could be right but I would imagine all the original elements were restored for the Blu-ray releases, including the scores. Disney may also figure there isn't a demand for more music from the classic films, which is a shame. Snow White, for instance, is nearly complete, but the unreleased bits are actually quite nice, such as music that accompanies the dwarfs chasing the hag/Queen leading to her to death. Balahkay 627
I certainly hope they continue the LC through at least 2018 for Mulan. If it's continued, Hunchback should get a release next year, too. I'm really not sure if these sets are selling well, though. I imagine The Lion King and The Little Mermaid did quite well considering their popularity and all the extra music included. I'm looking forward to Pocahontas in July. I'm very curious if they'll include the film version of "Savages 2" (the instrumental before the song starts), the deleted song "If I Never Knew You" and it's short reprise. Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
For the Disneyland set, I would have inserted the current Jack Wagner Railroad announcements (the officially released version is an old one, I think the original, that hasn't been used in decades), the 2009 version of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln (which is a totally different take and has a good repurposing of the America, the Beautiful score), the movie version of POTC, which has an awesome rendition of Yo Ho (A Pirates Life for Me) in the caves, Snow White's Scary Adventures (which was never featured on the Fantasyland Dark Ride Suite), some Tomorrowland area music (which could fill up an entire disc), Winnie the Pooh area music, something new from Star Tours and Big Thunder Mountain 2014 version sound effects track. That would round out the set pretty nicely. Make DL and DCA separate releases.

Luke Skywalker 1,792
So, this Toy Story release is expected to be a complete score?if they continue the trend, as a modern score, it should be complete or expanded.
Datameister 2,037
Is there much to add? I haven't seen the film for many years. There's stuff missing from the OST - nothing mind-blowing or anything, but they could definitely do an expanded release a la Mermaid.
Kendal_Ozzel 36
The Amazon listing for Toy Story now confirms that it's 2 discs. That doesn't necessarily mean complete score, of course, but the OST was 54 minutes.

ZackR 95
Hopefully the more recent scores continue to be well done. I've given up thinking the classic/Golden Age scores will have any new material. Still, I'm a completist and want to support the line so I've bought them all so far. I'm afraid that a lack of sales for the Golden Age scores would signify a lack of interest by Disney versus a dissatisfaction with the lack of new music. Luke Skywalker 1,792
I hope they dont cancel the series by pocahontas release...Speaking of which...Will it have the 10th anniversary DVD song (if i never knew you) and its finale reprise or they will do it like the lion king king and put it in the second disc?I think it should be in the main score, since, it was recorded for the film (the animation was almost finished) unlike the bonus lion king song which was taken from the musical adaptation and adapted and animated anew and put into the film 10 years later. It would be great to have the full finale in the main score, but maybe that will appear in the demo sections.Having a lyric-less "if i never knew you" as a bonus would be nice for countries that did not have a 10th anniversary edition (like in Spain). It would be nice to add that voiceless cue to a personal edit of the score using that and the rest of the translated songs from the OST.

Balahkay 627
Good news!I wonder why Disney is treating their 1989-present animated scores differently than their older scores in this line? That's a question I'd like to see officially answered. It's been disappointing to say the least, but at least the 1989 on up scores are getting complete (or nearly complete in the case of The Little Mermaid) releases. JohnnyD 1,220
Awesome release of Randy Newman's score and songs for Toy Story. Can't wait to get it. You know, the only other release in this Legacy Collection series that I got and am thankful to have is The Lion King. Every other entry in this soundtrack series either does not spark interest or is not a definitive release. Though, both The Lion King and Toy Story were the only entries in this Legacy Collection series that I was getting anyway.

Muad'Dib 1,800
It may also be that sadly people are much more interested in the 90's Disney movies onwards.
JohnnyD 1,220
Guess you're a 90s guy I was born in 1992, so yeah. Though, that really has little to do with my interest in The Legacy Collection. I would have bought Sleeping Beauty if it were not a basic re-issue of stuff previously released with only a second disc of irrelevant demos.
