Michael Giacchino's Jurassic World (2015)

It's cool that 2 of his 3 children have composed cues for their dad's movie scores now

You're right ; He mentions four people in the "special thanks" of the Lost Season 2 OST: "Jamie, Mick, Gracie and Griffith" - Jamie of course being his wife.

I know it's not much, but I'm loving that 15 second clip!

I do too. I kinda wish we could hear how Giacchino arranged and incorporated Williams' themes already. We know we're at least getting a big arrangement of the main theme ("Welcome to Jurassic World").

The "Lost"-esque action music is only 15 seconds of the score so far, and that might not even show up in the film and/or soundtrack release!

I'm glad we're not hearing how he's interpreting Williams' themes now - that should be revealed in a trailer or via the OST or film, not in an instagram video.

So is this actually a Gia score if other people then him are composing actual music?

Sounds to me like he is adopting a Hans Zimmer style of working.

Or John Williams ala Return of the Jedi/The Phantom Menace ;)

You know the Mick Giacchino cue is a source cue, right?

It's just background music for Jimmy Fallon's appearance on a video display on one of the rides in the park. It will likely barely be audible.

I was literally just about to post that!

Maybe this score will have a Lost-ish sound after all--not that that's a bad thing! I'm listening to Lost now, actually.

I listened to the first four OSTs yesterday and it really brought me back!

Anyways, the video has nothing to do with how JW will sound. Those are all fairly standard instruments after all.

VERY HAPPY Iwaktaki is recording this, of course!!

And TGP - what do you say about those timpanis, eh?

Its 8 timpanis arranged the exact same circle in both pics....

You're saying that's a total coincidence?

Look at the anonymous, pressed boards at Sony.

And the rich floors at Warner Brothers.

It's a great big mystery, yeah? Maybe they had them at WB for another of his scores? Maybe they only had all eight there and he was picking them up to bring them over to Sony?

Hard to believe this has even generated this much discussion.

I can also tell these two rooms apart by their smell, but that's of little use here I guess.

Also take a look at the dividers in the original picture. Those are the ones they use at WB, as you can see in the picture I posted, not the bigger ones that Sony has.
