Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (Rian Johnson 2017)

Alex, that article says he'll be in Episode 8, not Episode 7.

And all it says about it is 'An insider told The Sun newspaper: "It will be a fun cameo. Billy's definitely up for it."' - so I'd take it with a grain of salt and chalk it up as a rumor for now. I mean, they haven't even started filming the 2016 spinoff film yet, let alone 2017's Episode 8.

The Sun newspaper can in no way be taken as truth without some sort of corroboration. There's only two reasons people buy that paper anyway

I will be stunned if Billy D Williams reprised his role for

a) Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast

b) Star Wars Rebels

(and others, i think)

An he end not appearing in the sequel trilogy at all.

Disney want an old family reunion! I wouldn't be surprised if they were working on a CGI version of Alex Guinness' ghost version of Ben.

You'll forget about it anyway and then Jay, the memory bank, has to straighten you out again. You'll see!

Billie Dee is not my lover
He's just a boy who claims that I am the one
But the kid is not my son
He says I am the one, but the kid is not my son

Good, Star Wars movies belong in the summer, not in December

When you have a big franchise like Star Wars being as popular as it is, it doesn't really matter where you place it on the calendar. People will flock to see it regardless.

Do you think it's weird Disney assigned a date for their 2017 Star Wars film before their 2016 Star Wars film?

One year and half interval between VII and VIII, that's quite short, isn't it?

No, because they had Rian Johnson write Episode 8 while Episode 7 was being made

True, but doesn't leave the cast a lot of breathing space between episodes. I reckon they'll start shooting towards the end of the year

Get used to the fact that from now on they will be churning out Star Wars films! No more 3 year waits.

That's so far away who knows. The man is already 83 now.

All we know now is he's doing Ep 7 and Bridge of Spies. Maybe he'll retire after that. Who knows.

Personally, I think he'll do all three entries in the sequel trilogy if he's healthy, able, and likes the films.

Williams already stated publicly he doesn't plan to retire any time soon and will continue to write music until he has health and energy to do it.

True. The chances of him scoring Episode 8 are certainly higher than him scoring Rogue One.

Knowing that he'll be 89 when Episode IX will be ready to be scored, I doubt Williams will work on that one.

Episode VIII is still possible, though.

Of course nothing is a sure thing, but it's not impossible that Williams will score Episode IX. He's staying fit due to all that conducting and whatnot.

My grandpa's aunt worked until the age of 98 and she's still as healthy as ever - meaning that she lives by herself, does her own shopping and cooking and takes no medicine. Some people are lucky to have a health like that!

They're starting to shoot this summer, obviously they need to announce the crew much earlier. I'm sure Williams will be the first choice for composer, as long as he is capable of doing it

But he doesn't do shit anymore, not even Spielberg films apparently. It's a wonder they didn't have fucking Zimmer do TFA.
