Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
It's obvious these scenes are disproportionately better than the rest of the movie. Maybe it's because Jeremy Irons is just a better performer. Affleck is dependable and plays off him well, maybe ups his game here. The music is good too. It gets you involved. Outside of Gotham City, everything is a mess. The whole storyline with silly millennial hipster Lex Luthor off his meds, the stupid LOTR monster, the awkward dark and disturbing Superman and Lois Lame are a real drag. Arpy 4,145
They should've written Superman out of the film and kept it a dark, brooding story between him and Luthor (sans the cave troll). I reckon this film was originally structured differently, with three or four competing story lines that became such a tangled mess that they had to leave it as it was. 1 hour ago, Gruesome Son of a Bitch said: It's obvious these scenes are disproportionately better than the rest of the movie. Affleck and Irons are actually well done and you can see (at least Affleck) cares about bringing something to the performance.

Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
The movie sounds like it may be too cynical and misanthropic based on the review, but I don't know. And/or the reviewer is trying to millennialy defend the Joker's perhaps deserved and satisfying kills in a weird way. "I'm not saying he should've killed her, but I understand." Unlucky Bastard 7,782
I heard that this new The Suicide Squad is a "reboot", even though it still has Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. So is it still set in the same universe as the first one or is it set in another universe? Is it gonna be like Casino Royale where it's set in a completely different universe to the Brosnan flicks but retains Judi Dench as M? That sort of thing? Arpy 4,145
It looks like they salvaged the good actors/characters from the original film. This is perhaps the strangest incident of a reboot I've seen, from it's conception to taking actors from the previous film, coming out only a few years after the original. Excuse my ignorance, but is this actually a reboot, or a retelling within the same world? How does this fit in with Birds of Prey? Does it? My head hurts...
