No word on what the asterisks on 2 and 15 mean (reused another composer's themes, most likely), and no word on who wrote track 28

I assume the two tracks with *s after them - "Heroes" and "Inevitability-One Good Eye" - are tracks that Elfman incorporated Silvestri's Avengers theme?

I would guess so, too - a track called "Heroes" at the beginning seems like a likely place to either have a news report about the Avengers after the first movie, or maybe a catch-up of where everyone is at that point. A good place to reprise the theme from the first movie in the series.

My fear was that we wouldn't get any Elfman music on this release given the circumstances, so I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. Now I'm wondering if there won't be a little whiplash between composers' styles, but I'd imagine that part of Elfman's job was falling in line with the tone of the score that they WERE keeping.

Why do you say 3 tracks? There are only two tracks with *s next to them.

And we don't know how many of Tyler's tracks include his Iron Man and Thor themes.

I HAVE to imagine Captain America's theme is used as well, since it's been used in 4 MCU films so far.

Yeah, the most current themes for each character are:

Iron Man (Tyler)

Thor (Tyler)

Avengers (Silvestri)

Hulk (Armstrong)

Captain America (Silvestri) (no character theme in pt 2 that I can think of, outside of this brief reprise)

None of the other characters have their own themes. I doubt that Armstrong's (great, btw) Hulk theme will pop back up, so the asterisk may well be "uses themes by Alan Silvestri" Tyler's themes would be fair game for this score for obvious reasons.

Didn-t Black Widow have a motif in part one?

Yes, she did. I liked that one, especially how Silvestri developed it over the course of the film.

It would be nice if Tyler or Elfman incorporated it or referenced it in the Ultron score.

I've only listened to the Silvestri score twice, and seen the film equally many times. I didn't pick up any themes besides the main Avengers theme, but then again I didn't particularly care for either, so I guess I just wasn't paying attention

Well, there was also Black Widow's theme and two themes from Captain America (Tessaract theme and Cap's theme). And Shield's material that opens the end credits. I'm not sure how Iron Man was represented, there might be a small idea (I know Silvestri used some synths for him)

Widow's motif pops up at least twice. It plays during Natasha's interrogation scene ("Interrogation") and then during a big action scene ("I Got a Ride").

Does anybody know of a release date for the "Age of Ultron" CD? I am surprised that I can't find a listing on Amazon, iTunes, or anywhere else.

Did you read the main post of this thread?

Tyler looks far more awkward. Elfman is goofy, but Tyler just doesn't look real.

Tyler looks too metrosexual with his fancy hairdo, his perfect designer stubble and his suspiciously white teeth.

Like he should be the running up on X-Factor rather then a film composer.

No "&" here either. Weird.

That's because they didn't work together.

Meh. It's stupid. Not putting an ampersand makes it look like it's one man.

They should have put one name under the other. Bah!

I guess its kinda like how at the top of posters they just list the names without ands.
