Copland - Quiet City (from the BPO Album Music for Stage And Screen) Quiet City is a composition for trumpet, english horn and strings by Aaron Copland.In 1940, Copland wrote incidental music for the play Quiet City by Irwin Shaw. The next year he knitted some of it into a ten-minute composition designed to be performed independently of the play. It's so good, I played it three times!!It's full of "autumnal warmth" (whatever the hell that means!!!), and is a lovely mini piano-piece in its own right. The only thing that changed, is that I removed the pieces composed by other composers, to focus only on JW's compositions. Tracks from "Gathering with friends" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi" have just been added. These are "radio" picks, so they are 100 % usable at home or in the car, alone with your cat or with your friends, at any time of the day or night! Enjoy and good (re)discoveries!
