There's also a Terminator, How To Train Your Dragon, Star Wars, Avengers, and Lego movie that summer!

That won't happen. Terminator Genysis has soft numbers and unless the international numbers go up significantly, no Genysis sequels.

Meh.

I wasn't very impressed with Jurassic World. In the original movies, they at least made an effort to depict dinosaurs. Now we get genetically modifed giant super-intelligent monsters! I was like WTH throughout the entire movie...

But hell, it's a billion dollar B-movie franchise, so they'll keep them coming as long as they make money.

I hope raptors are sent in to fight the Vietcong. Then it's revealed that the Soviets have been conducting their own dinosaur breeding program after stealing research from Ingen. They then unleash their own megabad Ivan Drago-like dinos on our American hero raptors, and Vietnam War II erupts.

But in the end, our girls will finally win us this war.

Well, from the short bit they told us, this story could go anywhere. However, there is something I want to see:

Dodgson and Biosyn. I mean, they had that whole subplot of Nedry stealing for them in the first film. Surely they would have tried again?

Good one.

Is your real name David Koepp?

They cast me as some unlucky bastard.

I believe you!

Maybe they can do a prequel to the first movie... ah, but then there'd be no dinosaurs yet. Shoot.

For an idea of where they are going, I refer to this article:

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/06/14/jurassic-world-director-colin-trevorrow-franchise

How do you make a sequel? How would people ever come back to Jurassic World?
Maybe they won’t. I felt like it was my responsibility to at least tee up where we could go and in doing that I felt like I don’t want to make it yet another island movie or another theme park movie. I felt by introducing a couple key ideas and some of them are introduced by Dr. Wu, played by B.D. Wong, and even the simple idea that these people at Jurassic World won’t always be the only people that can clone a dinosaur. We never imagined what happens when this technology goes open source. I think the minute that you add an idea like that into something like this it can open up the minds of every young person who loved these movies. I think there’s a lot room to grow.

I for one am actually iffy on a sequel being that great at this point, if THAT is the direction he wants to go. The islands for me have always been part of the mystique of the Jurassic Park films. And to essentially take it all away from that... well we already got a taste of what that is like in Lost World. It is fun, but it just isn't the same. It becomes any other dinosaur film with genetics and crazy stuff. I'll still be interested and still see it, but I really doubt I'll ever be nearly as excited as I was for Jurassic World and all the other JP sequels in the past.

The only thing I would like is to finally have BioSyn come into frame, which seems like a BIG possibility now. But I don't see any need for them to return to any of the islands... if they have Dr. Wu. So... again... mystique gone.

Yeah...i don't want military genetically altered dinosaurs fighting wars.

Now they could make one, having a military base in a secret island, where they are growing dinosaurs (normal animals not ultra altered and specially no human DNA...) and training them etc... and they break loose and they wreak havok in the base. (deservedly so)... Maybe they capture blue and are experimenting with her... and owen an claire go to rescue her (and liberate her at sorna...)

Anything worse than that, do not want

The Lost Park: Jurassic World

That name was copyrighted by me weeks ago! :P

See? Even all of that just doesn't appeal to me. But I am sure you are right in them going in that direction because that is what is essentially being set up, as Colin himself said. Which I am sure is what Spielberg wants. It is like their way of easing in the whole genetic-hybrid war-machines that Spielberg wanted years ago. Looks like he found a way to finally ease in the idea without it being completely random by doing what they have done in Jurassic World. Definitely better than their original crazy ideas to try to make this all happen... but I still was never a fan of it for a Jurassic Park film. It's why I was so excited that Jurassic World was a re-imagined park story with only part of it's plot about the hybrid and militarized dinos. It still had so much of what I loved about Jurassic Park because of the park. I still wish they would have taken advantage of it's setting more (one of my few big criticisms of that film), and now it seems they really don't wish to ever explore that venue again.

The idea doesn't bother me in the slightest, if they do it right. Here's why: the novels hinted that Biosyn, should they get their hands on Ingen's material, were going to use that to do more than build theme parks with them. They wanted to commercialise dinosaurs.

Well they won't be "Jurassic Park" movies anymore - only the first three movies in the "Jurassic" series have had "Park" in the title. Now that we have a precedent for titles and tales out-of-park, we can finally get that Jurassic On a Plane that everybody's been dying for, or Jurassicnado

JUrassic world counts as a jurassic park film...

Jurassic park III should have been called 'return to the Lost world' or something. There is no park there nor any intention to create one. (like in TLW)

I just meant more that it was getting away from an island adventure - something that's smart to do 5 films into a franchise that used that concept for the first 4.

The weaponizing of dinosaurs could be interesting if its not the main focus. I dunno. Nothing to do but wait and see. I have no investment in this franchise like some members here do. I don't really care if the next film is good or bad.

Yes, but the facilities on Isla Nublar were there for the park on Sorna, so there is still a link.

You have those backwards
