Basically, the rule is:

Any time Stefancos posts something ending in an exclamation mark, it is not to be taken seriously.

I feel like that's the rule for everyone!

Stef is that guy in school that gets away with everything. By the way how many times has Stefancos been banned? Or

In the 15+ years I've been here? I think 4 or 5 times.

And it's Steef, not Stef.

Would you guys say your overall opinion of the film has improved or worsened since release?

I really disliked the film when I saw it opening night.  Like, disliked it a lot.

I warmed up to it immensely when I saw it in theaters a second time (in IMAX).

Haven't re-watched at home, nor watched any of the bonus features, yet.

I really liked it on first viewing, except for the blatant rehashing of ANH. That reservation went away for my second and most sublime viewing. Subsequent views have more or less maintained my current opinion: it's a very fun, very heartfelt addition to the franchise that could have benefited from including one or two less tropes from ANH.

I liked it a lot.  I rarely rewatch movies these days, but I did see this three times in theaters.  The third time was maybe a bit much, so I'm going to put it in the vault for a while until close to Episode VIII's release.

The special features on the Blu-ray are unfortunately all fluff, and the deleted scenes are too short to be of any consequence.  Honestly, if your purchase of the Blu-ray hinges on the quality of the special features, maybe hold off until the price drops a bit :)

Star Trek Into Darkness already received a second blu ray with more features

Same thing happened with Casino Royale, too.  Or were the 2disc and 1disc versions released on the same day?

The only way I buy another TFA blu ray is if they do an in-depth musical featurette, which will never happen.  As it figures, I suppose I won't have that choice to worry about.

It puzzles me why DVDs still outsell Blu-Ray when it's so cheap.

Because to the general public, the picture and sound quality increase isn't that noticeable, making it not worth the cost to completely overhaul a collection.

DVDs are still sold everywhere, and used ones are very common. The timespan between the rise of DVDs and Blu-ray was a lot shorter than the timespan between VHS and DVD, so a lot of people see no need to upgrade so long as their DVD player works, especially if they still have a small old TV. We're still in a recession, when a lot of people don't have the disposable income to replace everything quickly.

I have a much larger collection of Blu-ray than I thought I would five years ago, but the majority of my digital collection is DVD. Whatever I buy new will be generally Blu-ray, but I will never reach the day where I trade in all my DVDs for Blu-ray. It's not worth it to me.

It's probably irrelevant that DVDs are still much easier and cheaper to copy than Blu-ray, since copying implies a decision not to buy something. At least they're easier to copy than VHS were.

Yeah.. i only have DVDs...and i want my collection the same format so they look the same in the shelf. OCD... :P . If i started buying blu-rays...i will have to re-buy everything again :(

O well... i dont have so many dvds anyway...but, since some films are still not in blu-ray format...And i'm sure that when i change format some new 4k disc will be developed and here we go again.

I'm not planing on owning a giant ultra-HD TV so DVDs for me are fine.

Bought the film on DVD yesterday and watched it again and still liked it very much and it still got a positive emotional response from me much like it did in the theater. I guess it is the genuine sincere feel the whole movie has, in part as it tries so hard to be a good SW film. The actors really go for these character types they are given with relish and believe in them and subsequently give honest and energetic performances. I still feel Daisy Ridley is phenomenal as Rey. There is very little cynicism in this fairytale adventure movie. The plot is indubitably retreading ANH (better ANH than TPM I say) but it is essentially introducing another hero's (or should I say heroine's) journey so I was mostly OK with it. The Death Star 3.0 ending is my only major gripe but the Ren VS Rey duel makes up for that familiar scenario.

4K discs are already in stores.

I'm so sad my current discs don't have enough dots or lines of resolution. I just can't enjoy them now that I know I'm missing out on more details on Gandalf's pores on his nose, knowing that I could be seeing more in 4K. All my blu-rays are as useless as coasters now.

I'm glad I bypassed buying BLu-rays then...

Blu-rays have been on the market for 12 years...

4K discs are most likely going to remain a niche market because you need a giant 4K TV to even benefit from the upgrade. Blu is clearly superior to DVD and is as cheap if you don't buy films when they're first released. I don't get this mentality of always waiting for the next thing, then you'll never upgrade at all.
