ricsim88 243
I would have loved to hear Malcolm McNab play on a SW score. He played lead trumpet on so many JW scores, dating to The Man who loved cat dancing I believe. Jon Lewis and the rest of the section did a great job though. Pretty busy score for trumpets As usual. karelm 2,890
McNab is a freak of trumpeting skills. Take a listen to this: It is unbelievably difficult to do this. For those of you who are not classical fans, he's playing the violin part of a famous violin concerto but on trumpet. This requires superhuman lungs, endurance, dexterity, musicianship, and range. ricsim88 243
I have the part for this. Trumpet part. It is unbelievably difficult to play. He's definitely one of the best player ever. No wonder JW always wanted him to play lead on his scores.

Popular Post artguy360 1,839
From that same article or a different one on the same website(?), John Williams likes to scare children: Quote Though not the most traditional, Williams’ direction is certainly descriptive. “Some of my favorite directions from him I could not help but jot down,” shared oboist Jessica Pearlman Fields. “‘Scare the children!’ he once yelled; ‘Play to the tenth row, shake the theater!’ and ‘Get louder on the long note, earn the eighth notes.’ Another favorite, of a particularly beautiful phrase, ‘That bar is a gem, we could steal it!’ He has a way with words, gestures and patience which earns such deep respect and admiration from his musicians — yes, his. I am so very grateful to have been able to work with and learn from him on this most memorable film.” http://listen-la.com/star-wars-the-orchestra-awakens/ mrbellamy, crumbs, Cerebral Cortex and 3 others

Too bad that an Orchestra that is bigger than the LSO that recorded star wars, has been reduced to so much *bantha poo-doo* Abrams can masturbate all he wants to , about the movie and the score, but, truth to tell, this isn't anyone's "finest moment." In a day and age, where anyone can sound like anyone, with *anything*, shawn murphy should be ashamed, for mixing this tripe! I hew to the original "episode 4", especially since I can watch it for free. To george lucas-once you have sold your *cow* and it's been chopped to hamburger, it's a little hard to get your "cred" back! They might have been engaged with prior commitments like a tour or something without much schedule flexibility. For instance, Gayle was working with Andrea Bochelli during this time and Jim was in Vienna.
