John Williams....the force...and reverb

an easy test is to listen to all the different recordings of the Star Wars Main Title. Almost all of the ones NOT recorded by JW are considerably wetter . The only exception I can find is on "John Williams-Greatest Hits"......that one is drenched...I suspect added.

Yes, and, god, the woodwind section is recorded in the most awful way! Nigh mono.

The OST is. According to the CD inlay it was recorded at "Burbank Studios" by John Neal (presumably Warner Bros Studio 1 where Neal also did CE3K and 1941) which had a rich, live sonic footprint. The film recording itself is very different--engineered by Ted Keep at the notoriously dry 20th Century Fox Studios.
