Jay 37,355
Just finished my first listen. Not terribly wowwed by anything, other than the final 3 tracks, which were all great! Admittedly, I was mostly distracted by the Nintendo Switch reveal, so its time for listen #2!

Jay 37,355
Listen #2 wasn't a big improvement. I really enjoy the last 3 tracks, and the first one to an extent, but everything in the middle just kind of blurs together in a blob of unremarkableness. Bummer. Popular Post Jay 37,355
Speaking of Force Awakens, just this morning in fact I listened to a bunch of it on the way to work, after not having listening to any of it for months. I was randomly inspired to check it out, and man....... that score is great. toothless 963
On first listen I like what I'm hearing. There are lackluster pieces I don't even listen to, but there are also great moments in that OST Highlights for me are : - Go For Baroque (Did not see that coming but nice kind of cool to hear some sort of harpsichord in a Marvel) - Strange Days ahead - Smote and Mirrors (This one is really cool) - Post Op Paracosm - The true purpose of the sorcerer - Inside the Mirror Dimension - Mystery Training (Reminds me of Vangelis and that's great) - The master of the Mystic End Credits (It's a grower. Did not like it at first but now, I find it entertaining)

Disco Stu 15,495
I'm never comfortable judging an OST this sprawling after one listen but I will say I really like the textures of this score. Nice use of instruments like organ, fake sounding sitar, harpsichord, some synthesizer, etc.

leeallen01 2,136
The best Marvel Scores are the one off, self contained scores that fit their film perfectly, but don't fit in any other Marvel film. For example, Beck's Ant Man, Silvestri's Captain America, Doyle's Thor all have their own flavour, and by the sounds of this, it wont fit in any other Marvel film either, which is good. But on the opposite side of it; Jackman's Cap stuff, Tyler's Iron Man, Thor and Ultron stuff, would fit in any Marvel film. It's all interchangeable, therefore unmemorable and disposable.
