Alex 2,835
Hi there, I just had a question about buying film scores online. I just wondered what sites you guys used? I live in the UK. Amazon doesn't always have re-issues or special editions and stuff like that so I was wondering what alternative there were (that ship to the UK) Thanks. Jay 37,364
Buy directly from the label whenever possible: Intrada titles: http://www.intrada.com/ (They also carry other label's titles) La-La Land titles: http://www.lalalandrecords.com/ Music Box Records titles: http://www.musicbox-records.com/en/ (They also carry other label's titles) Quartet Records titles: http://www.quartetrecords.com/ Varese Sarabande titles: https://www.varesesarabande.com/ Buying directly from them gives them all the profits built into shipping costs, as well as the full price of the CDs themselves*, which enables them to have more income to put right back into making more releases. If you need to save every penny and want to order multiple titles together, there are 2 great film score stores you can choose from: Movie Music: http://www.moviemusic.com/ Screen Archives Entertainment: http://www.screenarchives.com/ (*Say LLL releases a new CD for $20. If you buy it directly from LLL, they get all your $20. If you instead buy it from SAE, LLL only gets $16 and SAE gets $4.)
Naïve Old Fart 9,528
Interesting. Does anyone know of any specialty shops (ie not online)?
Jay 37,364
There aren't really any stores, especially outside of Southern California, that carry new releases from the specialty labels.
Naïve Old Fart 9,528
Thanks for that. Such a shame. I used to shop at 58 Dean St. Records, That's Entertainment Records, and Movie Boulevard. Now only TER is trading.

Unlucky Bastard 7,782
23 hours ago, Jay said: There aren't really any stores, especially outside of Southern California, that carry new releases from the specialty labels. There's one in Sydney called Red Eye Records. Great shop, but yikes you're looking at $60 for a CD listed for $20 on Intrada or somewhere.
Koray Savas 2,251
Intrada also sells through Amazon, though they recently starting inflating prices there to recoup Amazon's cut. Still adds up to the same amount though if you factor in their shipping.
Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
I prefer the Amazon Marketplace. I got some great deals on OOP titles such as The Towering Inferno, Dracula, Earthquake and The Poseidon Adventure. Only cost me a couple hundred bucks a CD!
