I was always pretty skeptical of Giacchino's involvement. Aside from that tweet, the only other sources were IMDb and Wikipedia, neither of which are that reliable. That article you linked to in the original post just listed a few of his credits from IMDb, as evidenced by the inclusion of The Tale of the Kite, which is only mentioned on IMDb. So I don't think Giacchino dropped out as much as he was never involved to begin with.
Jay 37,043
I think its equally likely that Giacchino was signed - but not announced - then had to drop out after he took on Rogue One, as it is that it went right from no composer to Zimmer
Max 141
Was there any actual confirmation that Giacchino had signed? It would make sense that Zimmer would be the composer since he and the director have worked together many times before. At any rate, I would take Rogue One from Giacchino over this any day. Alex 2,833
Refreshing to see Zimmer (and his minions) doing an animation.
Gnome in Plaid 219
I'm actually rather looking forward to this. Zimmer's at his best when he's working on something light-hearted, and what fits that profile better than an animated movie about a corporate exec baby? Koray Savas 2,251
Yeah, DreamWorks Animation was exclusively Zimmer and RCP up until recently.
Alex 2,833
Don't really look forward to anything Zimmer anymore, but prefer his animation work to any of his modern action material
Will 2,215
Darn. Well, if it was this or Rogue One I'll definitely take the latter.
