My FOTR packaging is green, my TTT one is red, and my ROTK one is blue.

Well you were always special BB. Blessed.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of the DVD's. :)

My Two Towers Limited ("theatrical") Edition soundtrack is brown.

I only have the RotK special edition. Never got the other two.

I do have two copies of each of the OSTs though!

And a copy of each of the CRs of course.

I have 1 copy of each OST, LE OST, and CR. And the book and RA. And for the Hobbit I have the US editions of each OST and SE OST

The FOTR OST's had collectible covers, Alvar. You didn't get all?

I bought the 3 CD box set which has all the covers for the films! ?

Not a fan of Conrad Pope?

I'm mostly not a fan of the rediculous retail prices for the SE's. Owning the music is more expensive than owning the film!

I have all of the above plus the CR's on audio cassette.

Did you transfer them yourself? With custom covers?

But the music is better than the films, man!

Eh.

I also hate the cardboard packaging. Each time I get out my AUJ CD's I worry I'm going to scratch them a little more. Why this sort of packaging is still used is beyond me.

I had custom covers commissioned from Alan Lee. Unfortunately I don't have any form of camera so you'll never see them, and so will just have to take my word for it.

I also have my limited edition, wooden case for the Rarities disc (not dissimilar in design to that pictured above) hand carved by naked Swedish Vikings.

Now that is an interesting oddity. The "regular" TTT Limited edition is supposed to be blue, right? Where did you get that one?

It was an "Internet only" Limited Edition. Basically the same as the standard limited edition, but it was also an "enhanced" CD with an interactive map that of course didn't work and a bunch of other crap that I looked at once. And as you can see the cover's brown. Anyway, supposedly they only made 200 of them, though interestingly enough it wasn't much more expensive than the standard limited edition at the time.

Did it have "Score music video and Making of the Score video"?

Yeah, as I recall it did. Liked I said I looked at that stuff once, ripped the CD and it hasn't been out of the sleeve since.

I suppose I can try to rip the video and upload if there's any interest.

Love it!

The Lost World, man! Dinorama!

Don't remind me! My first CD ever ruined by that horrible cardboard monstrosity! I just recently bought a spare copy because the original is so scratched. Needless to say I immediately housed the disc in a regular jewel case.

And my collection consists of:

The LotR OST albums

The LotR CRs

Doug's BOOK and Rarities

The Hobbit SEs (Decca's wonderful crappy cardboard editions, with discs immediately stored safely in standard 2 disc jewel cases).

and AUJ regular edition (for the alternate tracks obviously)

It was the 90's!

Star Wars Special Edition collector's edition soundtracks had those bloody cardboard sleeves too! My poor ESB discs!

O The Lost World, The ESB, The Hobbit SEs!
O soundtrack fair, upon your CD how great the musics play!
O album mine, I saw you shine upon a summer's day,
Your underside so bright, your form so light, your voice so warm and soft:
Upon your letter head how golden-red the film's name you bore aloft!
O disc dead, you can't be read, your surface all scratched and grey;
Your sound is killed, your voice is stilled for ever and a day.
O The Lost World, The ESB, The Hobbit SEs!

It is unfortunate you weren't able to enjoy my little paraphrase of Bregalad's Song from the Lord of the Rings.

And for the last time, pipeweed is tobacco, you drug hungry hippies!
