Thor 7,490
Sorry to hear it. FAWLTY TOWERS was one of my favourite comedy shows as a kid -- one of several British series we imported and embraced here in Norway, and 'Manuel' was a core part of that. I don't think I ever saw him in anything else, though.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Sachs' Manuel was a brilliant comic foil for the notoriously tightly strung Basil Fawlty. His nervous eagerness and linguistic inability to grasp what was going on often exasperating "poor" Basil.
Melange 446
Sachs had a fine voice for narration, probably his most wide reaching work (narration for countless documentaries, etc)
Naïve Old Fart 9,511
I've never seen the appeal of FAWLTY TOWERS. There's a deep sadness at the centre of it, that stops me from truly liking it.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
The show probably wouldn't work without it. Because Basil Fawlty, despite being a snob, arrogant, rude, a liar and schemer...you do kinda feel for him when things once again dont go his way.
