Quintus 5,399
Interesting, this is a great companion score to The Edge.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
I have the OST, but never got into it despite loving it in the film. Like Predator.
Naïve Old Fart 9,493
A good score, from a bonehead movie. Not even Caroline Goodall, Michael Rooker, and John Lithgow could save it, and that's saying something! Nevertheless, this is great news. Now...let's have good and proper releases of ANGEL HEART, EXCALIBUR, MISSISSIPPI BURNING, TIME BANDITS, and THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH, if you don't mind. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Solid 90's actioner with some impressive visuals filmmusic
Naïve Old Fart 9,493
Agreed, on both counts...but it's still a dumb movie, that has absolutely nothing to say, about anything.

Quintus 5,399
I couldn't care less about things like that in silly action movies, and they certainly don't lose points for not ticking that box.
Naïve Old Fart 9,493
There's a time for art to speak, and a time for art to shut up. CLIFFHANGER knew to do the latter. I'll have to watch it, again.

Agreed. It's great when an action movie does same some substance to it. Like Die Hard or Terminator 2. But it's not something I expect.
Maglorfin 196
I might be a little late but this is definitely a very fine edition of an outstanding action score, certainly one of Jones's finest achievements. LLL's edition is a good upgrade of Intrada's back from 2011, especially concerning the re-mixing job; the score sounds as excellent and clear as it ever will. Warmly recommended, even to owners of the 2011 edition. I particulary enjoy the first half of the score (tracks 1-15), most of all the entire plane hijacking sequence. Jay 37,281
It's a significantly better presentation of Jones' score than the Intrada version was, for sure. I for whatever reason seem to have grown a bit cold to the score itself over the years though; The OST was a staple of my 90s listening, but when I revisited it after this release came out I struggled to get through the whole thing. Maybe I should give it another chance today!

Andy 4,079
Never heard this or saw the film, but it must have something about it to get reissued again. Anyone want to sell me on it?
Jay 37,281
It's got a wonderful main theme, and cool action music The film is a fun 90s thriller too, with John Lithgow hamming it up as the villain. GREAT cinematography by Alex Thomson. Andy and Yavar Moradi

Anyone want to sell me on it? I remember when Trevor Jones came to Athens, someone (or it was him?) said that he was asked to write a Last of the Mohicans kind of theme for Cliffhanger, and that's why the theme reminds it a bit (in its beginning). I enjoy the movie very much. I don't remember anything of the score, apart from the theme. JTN

Anyone want to sell me on it? I like it but It’s obvious who the temp track was cobbled from. I had the original album and saw the film upon its release. I was naive at the time and kept looking for an “Additional Music by Alan Silvestri” credit. Andy
