I see discussions concerning Tintin have returned to other threads, so let's go one step further.  Which score do you prefer between it and TFA? I find them quite similar in structure and organization.  For instance, the heroic Tintin theme to Rey's theme, the unicorn theme to Jedi steps, the dueling music to the March (maybe pushing it there).

All in all, I prefer Tintin by a narrow margin.  I think Rey's theme is the best of all the themes (though a full heroic concert piece of Tintin's theme could have tipped even that preference), but overall Tintin is infectious, fun, adventurous.  It lacks the heavier villain stuff TFA has, but every track is great.

Love both, don't really find them similar.

I'd probably give the edge to Tintin as  whole, because I think it is probably better structured, more enjoyable from start to finish, has better action writing (The Pursuit Of The Falcon!) and more diverse material.

TFA maybe has stronger themes and stronger highlights, though.

This. Though I find TFA to have a little bit more variation, Tintin is more similar throughout the score. Which can be seen as both a good and a bad thing I guess. TFA has a larger emotional spectrum imo.

Hmmm, hard to say which is "better", since each sets out to do radically different things (I don't really find these scores similar at all, frankly).

I will say that for certain, I've definitely listened to Tintin far far more times than I've listened to TFA.

Are you seriously saying you've listened to a roughly six year old score more times than one that's not even two yet?

This is astounding!

I've listened to Rogue Nation more than either.

'The Jedi Steps and Finale' is the best track out of both scores.

Agreed!

'The Jedi Steps and Finale' is probably my favorite Williams track of the last 15 years. Definitely TFA.

It's right up there with the finale from War Horse for me

Tintin... by far!

i would vote for it even only for the original main title music.

SWVII for me is yesterday's dinner heated again..

I don't think I have listened to the whole album more than twice.

You need to learn to make better meals so you look forward to leftovers more. Maybe you can't cook.

But John Williams can.

I'll be glad if it gets scored at all.

Because that would mean it finally gets made. ;)

Hurry up, Peter Jackson! Stop wasting time and do what you promised.... :P

No!  You've seen what happens when Peter Jackson gets rushed!  Don't encourage it!

Is he even working on it at all? I'm fine with him taking the time he needs.

But not with him skipping it altogether! Plus, if he does it soon enough, John Williams can write the score. ;)
