artguy360 1,843
So I started listening to the Crystal Skull complete score and it turns out the fun Russian action motif in the first post is actually a reoccurring motif for the bad guys first played here very slowly. Listen carefully and you can hear the entire motif, same as in the first post of this thread but much slower and flatter. It's also played again in the end credits with a different orchestration and livelier.
Richard Penna 3,670
A couple of JNH moments. This one from Waterworld is one of the most evocative passages I've ever heard: And this one from Signs. Honestly I could point out a dozen highlights from this score (I nearly posted the final minute or so of 'Hand of Fate pt 2') but I think what JNH achieves in this piece is remarkable - a moment of emotional reflection in the middle of the chaos. If there was no improvising going on in this score, JNH's writing is staggeringly detailed.
Oomoog the Ecstatic 314
Yes! I have a case of this that goes on for over a minute! All these different meters, changing base-lines of harmony, catchy one-noters, and alternate melodies. 2:31 - 3:
