I'll probably be giving Man With The Golden Gun a watch. A film I will defend till my dying breath!

It's my personal favorite of his Bonds. Although I love all of them, stupid and daft as they got.

Moore got some of my favorite over-the-top Bond baddies and lead henchmen.  Scaramanga & Nick Nack, Kananga & Baron Samedi, Stromberg & Jaws, Hugo Drax &... Jaws again!  All so ridiculous and fun.

Anyway, he's still my favorite Bond to this day!  A golden era of silly action comedies.

And coming so soon after losing Clifton James!  A true end for the silly bond era. Though Sheriff Pepper did indeed represent the franchise at its low point.

Clifton is no doubt chasing Roger around in that big swamp in the sky.

But did he have a tremendous singing voice?

You got there before me, Sharky!

It's a really good film, and, in many ways, his best performance(s). It's a shame it's not known more than it is.

GOLD, SHOUT AT THE DEVIL, and THE SEA WOLVES, are all not bad, either.

I have a soft spot for the cheesiness of NORTH SEA HIJACK, but - and deservedly so - TSWLM will always be his magnum opus.

Also, checkout his star-turn on BRIAN PERN.

R.I.P. Mr. Moore.

Still no mention on the James Bond Twitter account.

Jay, can you use your sources/contacts to rectify this?

Is it just me or does it look like Moore & Dalton's heads are photoshopped on in the pic on the top of that page?  Actually Connery & Craig are the only ones that don't look off.

I was genuinely upset by the news and there was some tear-shedding, I don't mind admitting. My Facebook post -

'My earliest-formed 'fandom' was Star Wars, but James Bond followed not long afterwards. And now the longest-running incumbent of the role has gone.

A national treasure who could self-deprecate for Britain and said the only thing in life he'd ever taken completely seriously was his UNICEF work (he once told an interviewer 'Oh, don't bother with all that 'Sir' bollocks. Call me Rog').

Am now doubly glad that I went to his 'An Afternoon With ... ' show last November. Ah God, I'm welling up now.

R.I.P. to a proper gentleman of the old school.

R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore.'

TSWLM tonight by way of tribute, I think.

The most cheesy had to be from View to a Kill...

"The name's Stock. James Stock."

I thought he was James St John Smythe?

I don't remember much about AVTAK,

something about Chris Walken shouting "you jeopardised mine!"

Time to rewatch Live And Let Die, the movie that taught Tarantino everything he knows.

He simply replaced Yaphet Kotto with Samuel L. jackson.

Oh man, the wood paneling.  Are those suede covers on the bar stools?  I want to get wasted in this bar.

I love that movie!  Now, Britt and Maud are the only surviving members of the main cast :(
