A24 4,306
Well, it's not my kind of list but I think TGP, Marian Shedenig and their derivatives will be thrilled! Of course, the number one spot will always be no surprise. It's the one thing we all agree on.
Dixon Hill 4,232
I don't watch video lists. But if Children of Men is in the thumbnail, that doesn't bode well.
A24 4,306
Oh, but Contact and some Nolan film are also admitted. And not the Nolan film you would expect. Watch it and be thrilled, TGP!

The list: 10: Snowpiercer 9: Children of Men 8: Contact 7: Planet of the Apes 6: Her 5: The Prestige 4: Metropolis 3: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 2: Stalker 1: 2001: A Space Odyssey No E.T., Blade Runner, Star Wars, Close Encounters, Alien, Terminator 1 or 2 or even The Matrix? Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
The definition of science fiction is too broad. James Bond movies could be considered sci-fi. Doesn't quite sound right, does it?

Brundlefly 2,382
CineFix does not do rankings! They want to explain some interesting stuff about films! They call it Top 10 to get clicks! They admitted that themselves!

What kind of list is this? A valid one that tackles different sub genres of sci-fi. Most of the films you mention here are also noted in the video as honorable mentions for the criteria of each placement. 4 hours ago, BloodBoal said: Well, there's the technology used by Jackman's character (given to him by Tesla). I'm guessing that's what made the guy consider it sci-fi. I'm not sure I'd consider Children Of Men sci-fi either. As explained by the video, yes. The movie has clones. You got see it as early sci-fi, sorta like Jules Verne. Anyway, the voiceover explains it. It's not just the future science by itself but also how it affects the human psyche. However, the most important thing and maybe the reason why I made the thread is that they certainly weren't going to consider Nolan's Interstellar. crocodile 7,939
Well, The Prestige is a superior film. And one of the few Nolan films where the main characters felt very human, almost the point where you really hate them. Plus it looks gorgeous. A24 4,306
Yep, the characters in The Prestige were almost entirely driven by character flaws: jealousy, hate, vanity, ... All human traits.

Has CineFix become the film version of Pitchfork? Some of these films are highly overrated, and a couple just flat out suck. And even some I like quite a bit I would not list as among the greatest sci-fi ever. They've got movies on here that fail not only as genre films but as films in general. Maybe TWO of them belong on any legit sci-fi top 10 list.
