I still wait for my E.T. copy... Star Wars is not until december... I hope this black Friday will feed the beast, because I'm currently bored.

JW is like Dublin bus. You wait ages for one and then three come along at once!

Nothing will beat the shock of waking up to see complete Lost World.

My family is hoping for another surprise like that, to watch me freaking out like I did last year. They enjoyed it pretty much!

I just didn't think Universal would play ball and let a specialty label work on those properties, since they handled a JP expansion themselves not too long before.  Once the news of this sunk in, I realized anything was possible now for Williams scores.

And sure enough, we got another Universal JW/SS expansion less than a year later!

I've never quite supported the argument that major properties would be hogged by the studios wanting to do their own thing - JP demonstrated that they can have a mass-market expansion and a specialised expansion (by someone who has a fricking clue what they're doing) within a fairly short period. And surely having two products out, slightly separated, will encourage people like us to buy both... didn't studios like double-dipping?

I'd say SW is the one exception, as the market for the complete scores is no doubt way bigger than for any other film franchise. I'd be absolutely stunned if they were ever given to LLL/Intrada. (just in the spirit of 'never say never')

I want John Williams: The Complete Recordings -- a 7,482 disc set featuring the unedited recording sessions of every film score ever composed by Williams.

...except the Indy, Star Wars or Potter scores (rights issues).

Only this will suffice.

And Steven Spielberg will be the only one who will be able to buy. It will cause LLL to fold and go out of business.

With CE3K, JFK and Towering Inferno coming up at some point in the next year (I'm guessing), I'm not assuming anything else big in the next couple of months.  I'm sure there'll be other surprises coming up in 2018, but I think we're done with grand releases for Williams this year.

The fact is most everything Williams ever wrote is either being worked on by the labels or on their wish-list to be worked on if the studio who owns the rights would let them; It's extremely hard to control release dates of the final products though.  Things come out when they are done and approved, its impossible to pick a schedule of the ideal time to release each one and then stick to that.

Plus, and sit down folks cause this is gonna be hard to believe,

There are are other composers / soundtracks that are being worked on to.

I know it’s hard to fathom but it’s true.

I'd love to be totally surprised again like last time when the JURASSIC PARK set came out. Our expectations for other JW surprise albums have tripled ever since then....
