Just awake for the live streaming.

Ready to record. Are you recording to?

Yes, I will try to record the streaming using Audacity.

Is it just me or does JW's voice sound a little "off"? Maybe just a cold?

Great story about Dry Your Tears, Afrika, though. I hadn't heard that story before.

Very nice story!

He mentioned that it is a bit wet up there in New England, so maybe that's what's making him a bit hoarse.

Beautiful performance of the piece!  Also love to hear Call of the Champions!

Duel of the Fates up now!

Yeah, I noticed that too. I kind of like the fast tempos, though. Adds a little novelty to the performance of these familiar pieces.

I think it may be because of his hoarse-ness and general uncomfortable feeling. Because he has only talked to the audience once so far, too.

It is a love theme!  John has said so!

True, missed the significance of that, but, yeah, he was pretty clear. :)

I agree, everything sounds great. Duel of the Fates was especially powerful!

Excited to see (er, hear) what the encores are... ("Main Title" is always great, but, uh, gets a little old after a few hundred performances ;))

The more I hear that new arrangement, the more I am in love with it.

He did conduct it very fast tonight, though!

That's good news if true.  I'd like to hear To Lenny again, though I'm sure some of us JWfaners have recorded the broadcast.

The studio recording is available streaming on the Call of the Champions album under the title “For New York.”

Yep, my favorite recording is that CoTC album one:

One other recording, however, is available (conducted by Marin Alsop):

Why not FLAC?

The radio stream is not of that quality, I keep the FLAC file, but turning it into a VBR mp3, we lost nothing, I've compared the two results.

That is actually incorrect.

FLAC is not a "quality" it is a format.

By saving a file to FLAC, or other lossless formats like ALAC, you preserve the quality of the recording. By turning it into an MP3, VBR or not, you do not.

For the 2nd time, I really don't know why people laught at Psycho videoclips.

It's a reason why I don't love to go to concerts, being in public with all those weirdos around me.... It's a thing I can't do.

The only thing to do when you hear the music from the shower sequence, is to wave your arm in the air, like if you had a real kitchen knife in your hand.... not to start laughing.

:sarcasm:
