The 2018 edition!

Not just from JW, but any soundtrack.

My list:

1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

2. Star Wars The Phantom Menace

3. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

4. Minority Report

5. JFK

Sorry, 5 is not enough!

SW Prequels

Potter 1-3

Dracula

Earthquake

Willow

Air Force One

Hook (only if they find the missing elements for The Ultimate War)

Born on the Fourth of July

I can honestly say that those are the only expansions I want. However, I would happily buy any other JW expansions.

Now, if we're talking about premieres and re-issues...

No soundtrack is worth 110 Euros.

But it certainly is, to Josh500. He has nothing and nobody more important than his soundtrack CDs. He needs his plastic discs on the shelf, lovingly watching him while he sleeps. He would spend 210 euros if he had to.

I saw LLL's The Poseidon Adventure on sale for 110 Euros! Wondering whether I should get this....

I've just seen it on eBay, for £66:56. Is this the one you mean? If it is, then I'd say "get it, now" - if you can afford it.

Well ya guess the Star Wars Prequels are three separate releases.

In that case I'd have to say Spider-Man 1, 2, and 3 even though MV said those most likely will never happen because of rights issues.

HP trilogy, mostly 3.

Indiana Jones Trilogy and SW OT , both complete and in listenable quality, but I know neither of these is going to happen too soon.

1. Jurassic Park & The Lost World ...no wait, that has been released, and I have to get it soon before it goes out of print.

2. Braveheart ...no wait, that has been released.

3. Waterworld ...no wait, that has also been released.

4. E.T. no wait, that has been released as well.

5. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves ...no, that has also been released.

6. Erich Wolfgang Korngold's Captain Blood. :)

No soundtrack is worth 110 Euros. Unless you won the Powerball, that is.

I would give them for something that it's totally out of the question to be released as the things are right now:

eg. a cd box of Ducktales

Storia di Una donna (John Williams)

Kraft Suspense Theater cd box (John Williams)

You know, this is actually a nice score. I love the main title... :D

I'm not asking whether it's worth it or not. Duh, of course it's not, and that's why I'm torn!

I'm asking whether I should spend that much money nonetheless. If you want to have that soundtrack right now, there's just no other option.

Well you don't have to be so ugly about it.

It's your money, do as you please.

Duh indeed.

Anybody else reminded of Trump winning when listening to this score?

Trump used to use this as his personal entrance music. :D

Mission: Impossible 5 by Joe Kraemer

I love this score - easily the best of the five. But is there any unreleased music of particular substance? The two album-exclusive tracks weren't exactly essential... Anyway, looking forward to the 6th entry!

Oh yeah, by a metric mile. :)

The best thing on the Elfman album is the first 20 seconds. The remainder is a disappointment. There might be some good unreleased music, though.

And by the way: Elfman's not the original. ;)

Lalo Shifrin was miles ahead than any of these contemporary guys (except Williams), sure. :)

You know, I watched MI5, but the music didn't particularly stick with me. But then I wasn't particularly paying attention to the music. Gotta watch it again.

You could listen to the soundtrack before watching the film again.

I think Kraemer's strengths in this franchise is that he handles the classic MI theme with more style than anyone else, and he manages to create a stylish orchestral score without any interfering electronic elements. There might not be many extremely good tracks, but the quality of the album is consistently high.

To me, Elfman's was a huge disappointment. I really wanted to like it, but alas. This has been the case with many of Elfman's works. I love his Batman and Edward Scissorhands, but he hasn't produced much else which comes close in quality.

It is the first part of a trilogy of trilogies...

Some of my favorite bits weren't on the OST, yea.  They put practically everything up for free on the FYC site 2 years ago

What? Better than Elfman's original?

I think Elfman's is the best, but Kraemer's is RIGHT behind it at a clear #2.  It's the best score of 2015!

Just listening to the album and film opening:

The entire score is 100% acoustic; He scored it entirely with what they would have had access to in the 60s, including writing the whole score out with pencil and paper

Is there any unreleased music from Elfman's score which I should check out? I'm willing to give it another try.

Where did he get the pencil and paper? I bet from JW. :D

Yes, Elfman's score has some cool moments that were not on the OST album, but you can't check them out really; There's never been a session leak or bootleg or anything.  And I think the music isn't too clean in the rear channels of the DVD/BD, since I haven't really seen a fan edit anyone's made with material ripped from them either.

Hopefully one day the specialty labels can give this score the proper release it deserves!

OK, I've listened to a few tracks from MI5 on youtube, and the score's surely good, although I don't find it exactly mind-blowing. Reminds me little of David Arnold's Casino Royale, but IMHO Arnold is better.

Reminded me a bit of Arnold's Bond work, too, though obviously without any electronic elements.  I think Kraemer could make a great Bond score

That's entirely possible, but I'll bet you lunch that Arnold could make a better one  ;)
