Your TOP 10 re-issues wanted

1977

Recommended Posts

Taking my cue from Josh500's thread about Top 5 most wanted expansions, what are your top 10 dream re-issues?

Mine:

Leviathan

Raggedy Man

Twilight's Last Gleaming

MacArthur

*batteries not included

Thunderheart

Jack the Bear

Red Heat

Stars 'n Bars

100 Rifles (preferably with better art than the old FSM)

All the above were chosen for the simple fact that I missed them and they are now OOP and super-expensive.

I'm shocked to see what Poseidon Adventure and Chips are selling for on Amazon.

Quartet may tackle Chips, they seem to work a lot with MGM and have done a few Williams (although this is technically Bricusse).

Maybe I should look into selling my spare Chips off.

Bespin, you probably know this already, but the RSNO Midway is available digitally. It's better than nothing.

Thanks, I listen only to the JW original recordings!

You're such a snob.

A Chips rerelease would reduce the value of my copy!

Then you should hurry up and sell it to Bes!

The Varese recording of Masada

MacArthur, although if it can be expanded, I’d prefer that.

Raggedy Man

Batteries Not Included

The LotR CRs are my absolute No.1 reissue, whether 100% replicas or redone, "corrected" editions. Iwas a few years late to the party when I first read the books and watched the movies in the summer of 2012, and only this year have I started to buy actual CDs.

I also seem to have missed the original 2 disc BttF, and a reissue of that is not likely, seeing how only the first disc is being sold now (but even that's not on soundtrackcorner, and frequently out of stock on musicbox). I may have to get the other two before they "suffer" the same fate, but 3's price is pretty damn steep for 2 discs.

I just paid 57 $CAN dollars (48 $US) for Midway, shipping included.

So I guess I would spend 60-65 $CAN on Chips.

That's just 0.65 $CAN pr. minute!

However, listening to it now, I'm reminded once again that the score is too short! When it starts getting excited we're suddenly at the End Title track.

Anyway, if you want a chance to get my JW collection one day, the first step is to join my FB group.

That's the minimum to do. I have to know who you are in the real life! ;)

Fair enough, but let me ask you this: How many Bothans have left your apartment alive?

EDIT: Still waiting for your answer, @Bespin...

Pardon?

Have the complete score recordings to both Dracula and Monsignor disappeared?

Monsignor I don't know, but about Dracula, it seems even the Masters have gone.

Oh, here's another one for my top reissues list:

Herrmann's Psycho, original score recording, remastered from better sources.

Herrmann's wife reportedly has the master recordings, but she's holding on to them for ransom.
