Michael Giacchino's INCREDIBLES 2 (2018)

I didn't check Amazon because they're blocking Australian customers from accessing the site!

Australia has Amazon now, but it doesn't have nearly half of the products of the the US site does. :(

The Glory Days A Capella version!

That's just insane!!!

Very! Why does that even exist?!?

Are any of those bonus tracks featured in any way in the film?

Or are they random additions for soundtrack entertainment purposes?

They're definitely hilarious, that's for sure!

I think this is Gia's most entertaining and musically confident score in years. It sounds like he's completely in his comfort zone with this score, from the heavy dramatic writing to the jazzy action music and comical stuff.

As I suspected, one of the best things in the score is something he wrote years ago back when he was good.

Or is it something Chris Tilton wrote!

We're respectable? That's news to me!

I'm not a big fan of Screenslaver's theme.  Maybe it's because I loved Syndrome's theme too much!

Compared to the original, this one feels more like a superhero score rather than a spy score. Which probably makes sense considering this didn't really have much genre mixing.

Also I hate how Giacchino just uses repeated chords at the end of Looks like I picked the Wrong Week to Quit Oxygen.  It feels super amateurish!  Hes done that in Jurassic World and Rogue One I think and its always so jarring to me.

I think this might be a small callback to 'Kronos Unveiled' which itself is a play on the Incredibles main theme here at 2:36 onwards:

Not really, I think Elastigirl's theme is a better identity within the film.

The physical CD just arrived at my house.

The CD version does NOT contain the 4 acapella tracks from the online/streaming version!  The CD version just ends at track 32.

This is annoying because it makes the CD 68 minutes long; The online version with the 4 extra tracks is only 75 minutes long, so the CD could have EASILY held this stuff.  STUPID!

So frickin' good!

I've seen some suggestion in YouTube comments that arranger Gordin Goodwin (who apparently won a Grammy for arranging "The Incredits") may have been to a large extent responsible for this cue. Whether it's pure Giacchino or not, however, it's awesome. And it does seem to have plenty of Giacchino trademarks!

This scene was brilliant.

Also, I really wish Giacchino would have made an Underminer suite, it's such an adventurous theme, I'm sure he would've thought up a lot more if he had made a suite!

@Lockdown it's one of the first themes reeled off in the end credits suite with a new arrangement.

He orchestrated the entire score with Giacchino this time around, it's a strong possibility he also arranged the Incredits 2.

Does it contain the songs for each of the Heroes? I don't really care much for the acapella stuff.

It is missing only the last four tracks.

Yeah, just checked my Amazon order, just the DCapella versions of the themes then. I can live without them!

I wonder if it is a rights issue with the a capella group.

Anyone else think this score has a chance at nabbing an Oscar nomination? It's getting very good reviews, and critics really seem to be aware of its presence in the film.

I would guess there isn't actually anything here that isn't on the OST but haven't listened yet

UPDATE: Whipped this up quickly, Train of Taut Pt2 could be new

@Jay I think Train of Taut Pt. 2 is new, I think it plays as Elastigirl reaches the driver's room to find them dazed, hence the little part of Screenslaver's Theme.

The opening of Consider Yourselves Undermined is from ending of the previous track on the OST - A Tony Perspective.

Searching for a Screenslaver is also like a minute longer, I think there might be a portion in the middle that wasn't on the OST.

Here's a spreadsheet I put together for the score.

Diggin' the New Digs has a short intro not on the OST but the only cues that are entirely new are Train of Taut (Part 2) & 01:14-02:32 of Out and a Bout - Incredits 2 are new in the FYC other-than some microedits that can be edited back into the OST.

Edit: Just seen that Jay has also done a spreadsheet... Sorry if it seems like I'm trying to take away from his, that was not the intention.
