Popular Post Mari 279
Quote Hollywood legend John Williams celebrates a sixty years in movies in 2018, and to honour him the Royal Albert Hall will mark this landmark point in his career with live orchestral showings of five of his finest works. And if that wasn't enough, there will also be an extremely rare London performance from the man himself conducting the London Symphony Orchestra. This is a once in a lifetime concert, and will also be the 86 year olds composer first performance in the UK for 22 years. An Evening with John Williams in Concert London Symphony Orchestra Conductor: John Williams Friday 26 October, Auditorium 7:30pm £21-£90 Source crumbs, TownerFan, crocodile and 5 others 7

Miz 139
It looks like Johnny is conducting one (or a few) pieces. Has he the stamina for a whole concert? Well, as a Brit living 3-hours train ride from London, having never seen John Williams in the flesh, I will be queueing up on the internet to buy a ticket. Last year at the same time was Giacchino's birthday bash, which was my favourite concert ever until I heard a full Star Wars concert in Birmingham than, musically and performance-wise, superceded it. I ought to see him do his thing before he leaves us!

Naïve Old Fart 9,516
The Daily Mirror got it wrong: it's his first concerts in just over twenty years, the last being July, 1998. That being said; FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I wonder if he's over here to record anything? pete and Cerebral Cortex

TownerFan 4,983
It's easy to predict this is gonna sell like gangbusters in a few hours. Yes, the RAH is a huge 5,000+ seat venue, but this is gonna be fucking epic. There will be people coming from all corners of Europe, plus all our Blighty friends. Thor 7,495
Damn, that's pretty cool. I'm sure the ticket prices will be astronomical, and for my own part -- it comes at a very inconvenient date (the WSA in Ghent on the 17th, and then I'm involved in the Riga film festival on the 27th), but I'll investigate this when the tickets are put out on Friday. As publicist says, there's a chance of cancellation (Morricone has done it plenty of times in recent years), in which case I'm guessing you won't get a refund, but they'll just play the concert withOUT Williams. Damien F 1,742
I wonder why he is coming to the UK. I doubt he is making the trip just for that one concert. He might be recording something with the LSO at Abbey Rd.
