Could you do one without A new hope? Just Star Wars?

In that case I think he should do one for The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, etc. Without Star Wars in the title. Otherwise it wouldn't match, IMHO.

Those would match the prequels and sequels even less though.

True, for a moment I thought there were official versions of their respective logos without SW or 'episode' in them.

I would be fine having the sequels with the logo in between 'star wars', the prequels with the big 'episode' logo and the OT with their individual logos

Cool idea indeed!

Would anyone be interested in a fun challenge to make an OT soundtrack cover set out of these vintage Hungarian posters?

The titles could be in English but I like the typeface used on these.

Did anyone ever make a series of matching covers based on the Struzan (and similar) posters for the entire series (including Rogue One and Solo)?

How about matching covers for the other Star Wars content, such as games and Shadows of the Empire and such?

Thoughts on this design?

(Still heavy-work-in-progress)

Not bad! I like the layout, especially the upper half. Not a fan of losing the alien, but recropping will always have its sacrifices and moving him up would just make him cover up the DS eye or be an afterthought in the corner if downsized.

I like the work you did on the font, that must’ve taken some time! : )

But I must admit, in terms of sheer coolness, it’s hard to beat the original hungerian title A Jedi Visszater. I think that will be the way I will refer to ROTJ from now on!

These are absolutely amazing. Would you by chance be able to make one for Shadows Of The Empire By Joel Mcneely? For me it belongs in the musical saga ;)

Some of the artwork in this thread is stunning! Certainly makes me yearn for a competent artist to get their chance at designing artwork for future score expansions, rather than the cheap and nasty effort on the demasters.

Shot in the dark. Really hard to work with and around this awesome artwork, especially considering I don't really have any program that would make it easier. If anyone else wants to try and make something with this art, which I love, here's the original specialty IMAX poster:

I did a series for Rogue One back when it came out a few years ago, so I might as well share them right ;)

WUEIqc.md.jpgWUEr2Z.md.jpg

The first cover uses one of (if not the first) official poster released, which is the one I think they should've used for the official cover.

#2 was my attempt to recreate the simplicity of the first vinyl release of Star Wars, with the symbol of the Rebel Alliance added behind the logo.

WUEtCP.md.jpgWUE1Sm.md.jpg

#3 uses an image of what could've been one of the more iconic shots in the film, and what most of the entire marketing campaign was based on, sadly we never got to see it (only shown in the trailers).

#4 was an idea to make it look like a booklet for Plans to the Death Star.

WUEE1o.md.jpgWUEJ0v.md.jpg

#5 is just a simple addition, which would probably work best for the FYC.

#6 again uses a great shot of, well, yeah him ;) Sadly it was also only shown in the trailers.

WUERxi.md.jpgWUEQBC.md.jpg

#7 is based on Chris Alcock's artwork.

#8 is based on Kevin Tiernan's artwork.

WUE6F2.md.jpgWUEqJT.md.jpg

#9 and 10 uses screenshots taken from the trailers, and because they feature the Death Star I wanted to emphasize one thing director Gareth Edwards is brilliant at (e.g. Godzilla); showcasing the scale/size of it, so it was critical for me that the logo and text appear tiny in comparison.

WUEVY5.md.jpgWU6i9c.md.jpg

#11 was another attempt at making a Plans to the Death Star cover.

#12 is based on the fantastic IMAX poster.

WUEkp9.md.jpg8OTV1Q.md.jpg

#13 was meant as an alternate to the official cover.

#14 is part of my Olly Moss series.

Wlm43i.md.jpgWDYZJT.md.jpg

#15 was a request as an alternate for my Nicolas Alejandro Barbera series.

#16 is of course part of the Signature Collection seen above.

KSxq7.md.jpg

And the final version is part of my Steelbook series.

Star Wars covers collection.
