Neat! Always excited for more Giacchino :)

Probably won't get an OST album like 50/50 and This Is Where I Leave You, I bet

I feared the same for The Book of Henry until they announced the OST album just a few days before its release. I have hope for this one!

And even that one isn't available on physical CD

I think this is a good sign Giacchino will score Goddard's next film, X-Force

Maybe! Unless the Disney-Fox merger puts an end to Fox's in-development Marvel movies...

I wonder if Giacchino was approached to score Goddard's Cabin in the Woods (released March 2012) but had to turn it down because its schedule would've overlapped with his busy 2011/early 2012 schedule, particularly Ghost Protocol (December 2011) and John Carter (also March 2012).

That reminds me, I still need to see Cabin in the Woods one of these days...

Cabin in the Woods is great!

And your theory about Giacchino potentially scoring it is a bit off;  While it finally came out in 2012, it was actually shot way back in 2009 (long before Chris Hemsworth was Thor) and then delayed until after Thor was released to capitalize on it's success.  The score was probably recorded during post-production in late 2009.

Tracklist and (tiny) cover art! I haven't seen a U.S. release date yet, but the CD releases in Finland on November 16. I'm guessing/hoping we'll get at least a digital release this Friday (October 12) when the movie opens. Can't wait!

I'm starting to like this Giacchino guy. Seems like a swell chap. Fallen Kingdom made me SO HAPPY, and beforehand I liked Inside Out and Up enough to own those albums. War of the Planet of the Apes really grew on me once I trimmed the album a bit. Pretty much any of his scores I don't care for are for films/franchises I don't care about anyway.

Okay, Mikey dude, let's see whatcha got for this thing!

Listening to the Amazon samples, and I like what I'm hearing, I can hear hints of Giacchino's playbook in a few of them, a bit of Spider-Man Homecoming, a bit of Speed Racer...

Also, it sounds better than that live performance at the LOST concert!

Different key maybe, same rhythm, same everything else...lol  Again, just my opinion. But I thought instantly of Vulture when I heard it in Coco..

Lol. Jay is right. Not just a different key, different notes, different steps between notes, etc. Honestly, the only real similarity is that they're both played on that low brass Giacchino uses. You might as well throw Nero's Theme from Star Trek and that section from the Sky High Main Theme in there as well if that's all it takes for a theme to sound the same.

Hey at least he didn't post a picture this time! I have to be extra cautious now, when browsing JWFan at school!

Eugh, didn't think of that...I'll cool it then with the pics, for your sake! No more lesbian kissing gifs until school's out!

Any differences from the past seeing the tracklist?

I don't understand your question, can you reword it?

He must have missed the spreadsheet link I included in my post

Of course, it's hard to know much since the back cover doesn't show the times

I opened my physical copy of the Milan Records OST album this week.

There's nothing too interesting or exciting in the booklet, but there is a nice note from Giacchino

'I'd like to thank the musicians, technicians, and music prep colleagues whose creativity and dedication to their craft breathe life into all that I do.

Drew, it has been a long and interesting journey from Alias to Cloverfield to Lost.  Now culminating where California and Nevada meet at the El Royale.  You are a dedicated artist and filmmaker, but more importantly, you are an incredibly thoughtful and kind human being.  I can't thank you enough for including me in this gorgeously crafted film."

Made me curious to see what Goddard's next film will be, and it seems like he's been stuck in development hell on a bunch of projects and nothing is definitively happening any time soon
