Well, frankly, yes.

ROTFLMAOIs that what you teach you in school?

Whatever, let's talk about the score! :)

Is this the definite artwork?

What reason would you have for thinking it's not, Josh?

Yes. I imagine it must offend Josh500's sensibilities terribly to see Spielberg portray American soldiers fighting against fascism in a positive light.  Clearly this Jewish director didn't spend enough time emphasising all the positive things the Nazi's did. You know, like the Volkswagen.

Must be one of the many factual inaccuracies in the film that Josh500 opined on but never could explain.

You sound a bit butthurt. That's OK. Get used to it! 😂

Dunno, it looks a little rough, unoriginal. Like it's a temporary one.

But it's okay, I guess, although I like the other one better.

Ah, okay.

But considering they've just done a late 90s Spielberg-Williams collaboration distributed by DreamWorks, Amistad is certainly gonna follow!

I myself have had a feeling that an expanded release of the Maestro’s score to Amistad would happen within the year or so. Very valid point. There is a lot of unreleased music for that.

Is it me, or does that giant cloud contain a sad smiley face? :(😁

Anyway, they might have come up with an original one, like with Jurassic Park, A.I., E.T. etc.

I expect that up be released within a year or two! That, and JFK and Born on the Fourth of July!

It's just you.  But you seem as if you wear bullshit-colored glasses, so that's no surprise.

So 9 Spielberg films down... 19 more to go. :)

And no, I don't consider Hook done. Not yet.

Karol

Hook will never be done!

If it were possible to do it right the first time, they would have!

Great, now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it.

Trust me, I just saw it now, as well, when Jay posted the movie pic! :D

They couldn't... so what's your point? Your first sentence is still bullshit.

Well, I hope it's possible to do it right, and I hope they will someday, although somehow I doubt it will happen.

But I'm glad to be proven wrong!

Wow, I always knew you were kinda dumb. But I didn't know it was that bad.

Another butthurt brainwashed apologist for the Americans?

I love it! 😂

Basically this was supposed to be a digital and vinyl only release. We convinced UMG to let us do the vinyl, due this Fall, on one condition -- we get to do the CD as well. There is really nothing to add, less than 2 minutes, but it gave us the opportunity to have Mike write the notes and Jim do the artwork to one of the finest films in the past 20 years...to allow us to give this modern classic the deluxe package it deserves. We are honored to be releasing this score and we hope you enjoy its presentation.

Hmmm, no mention about improved sound quality....

So we'll be paying 20 bucks for less than two minutes of music and Matessino's notes.

Great!

I'm sure the sound will be improved... we talk about a CD made in 1998...

I sure hope so!

Although it is a bit suspect that it doesn't say remastered or whatever.

Less than 2 minutes? I rest my case. Fully understand that LLL didn't want to let this opportunity go, so I just hope it'll lead to things that ARE worthy of expanded releases, but I do think this is sort of a waste of time for everyone involved (LLL, MM, buyers).

Still don't quite understand why they would do 4,000 copies of this, though.

Will they even sell 1,000, especially since the OS album is still available for 7.99?

They don't order all 4,000 from the pressing plant right away or anything.

They probably ordered either 500 or 1,000 to start.  if they don't sell beyond 1,000, they won't press beyond 1,000

It says bonus tracks, plural. But missing music is less than two minutes.

What does all this add up to? Alternate cues? Dialogue? Songs?

Did you read the 12th post of this thread?

Sure. And I even watched the relevant video.

But somehow I don't think they'll release this new anniversary edition, announcing BONUS TRACKS, when they mean only these 2 tiny inserts. It'd feel like a cheat. There's gotta be more music, additional tracks.

Not remastered at all. Mr Williams, Mike Matessino and Neil Bulk all agreed the master was fine as is, so no need to remaster anything.

Yeah, it's an astonishingly high number for a score that's still easily obtainable and has very little missing.

I'll eat my hat if this sells the full allocation.

OK.

I will likely get this either way but.... This set is looking less and less attractive, and more and more redundant.

So it isn’t remastered and there’s only two minutes music more than the ost which is available for less than a tanner.

eh... I’m going to buy this but this is really a kinda meh release unless you adore the score and there seems to be very few of us who do....

So, 2018 is indeed gonna be one for the books... but not the good book, I'm afraid.

If it was a year for the good book, then wouldn't it be the End Times?
