How many minutes (approximately) of unreleased music do these scores have?

Recommended Posts

Just trying to make a list of the unexpanded Williams scores we don't have good sounding  bootlegs or leaked sessions

Just need the amount of unreleased music next to the score (as far as we know )

I'll add  the numbers to the titles as you reply

-Accidental Tourist

-BFG

-The Book Thief

-Catch Me if You Can

-Earthquake

-The Eiger Sanction

-Far and Away (don't count the bootleg)

-Memoirs of a Geisha

-Nixon

-The Patriot

-War Horse

-Tintin

1) Expanded Release Important:

-The Force Awakens- Probably a lot

-Amistad -about 40 minutes

-Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azcaban -45 minutes + many alternates(?)

-Born on the fourth of July (don't count the bootleg) -about 25 minutes

-Angela's Ashes-  about 15 minutes

-The Terminal- 10 minutes +many alternates

-JFK - A lot

-Images- 12 minutes

-Monsignor-less than 5 minutes? + unused music?

2)Expanded Release Less Important (unless there's a lot of unused music and alternates)

-Munich - 5 minutes + 1 long alternate

-Always -about 5 minutes

-Lincoln -less than 5  minutes

-Presumed Innocent-less than 5 minutes

-The River-less than 5 minutes

-Sabrina -less than 5 minutes

-Sleepers-less than 5 minutes

-Stepmom -less than 5 minutes

-Spacecamp- Docking fanfare  + ?

That's all I noticed. I only noticed it because I play guitar and knew there was no guitar in the OST. I wasn't specifically listening for unreleased music.

Always around 5 minutes

Amistad around 40 minutes

Angela's Ashes definitely more than 1 minute! I would say around 15 minutes, but I don't know

Born on the Fourth of July around 25 minutes

JFK an unestimateable amount of music, but it's a lot

Munich around 5 minutes + one long alternate

The Terminal around 10 minutes + many alternates

Azkaban around 45 minutes + 45 minutes alternates?

Less than 5 minutes: Lincoln, Presumed Innocent, Sleepers, The River, Sabrina, Stepmom

Presumed Innocent is tricky, because a majority of the music is derived from the main theme, and it's unclear, from memory, if the unreleased cues are simply tracked music, and if they replace other cues (ex. "Leon Talks"). The CD is definitely missing the main titles and the election night source music

Then add something like "an important cue that is very different from the rest of the score" to The Terminal.

And Catch Me If You Can is basically unreleased, since the OST is kind of a re-recording, according to other members here.

anyone knows Tintin and BFG?

Pretty substantial for Tintin because Williams essentially scored the film twice, one year apart.

He recorded a substantial portion of the score to an early cut of the film, then about a year later recorded it again for a tightened up cut. What you hear in the movie is a combination of both recording sessions.
