Would you say Michael Jackson’s Someone In The Dark was slightly influenced by John Williams’ E.T. score?

The song is from the storybook narrated by Michael Jackson, released after the film.

 

I always felt the central melodic hook, as heard in the intro, was influenced by Williams’ score, especially the signal theme.
