James Horner's AN AMERICAN TAIL - NEW! 2019 Intrada Edition

Recommended Posts

It's a play on words.  Theoretically, the title should be "An American Tale".  But he's a mouse, with a tail, so they made a joke title of "An American Tail" instead

The German title of the film managed its own pun, which is named "Feivel, der Mauswanderer" ... because "Auswanderer" means "Emigrant", and since he's a "Maus", he's a "Mauswanderer".

Believe it or not, I never realised the German title was a pun until now!

OMG, only now realising that the German title is also a pun. It's Feivel, der Mauswanderer. Merging Maus (mouse) and Auswanderer (emigrant). 🤦‍♂️

argh, too late. ;)

It is the score that got me into film scores in the first place.  I was a snob when I heard it the first time.  I thought the solo violin melody at the start had to be a quotation of someone else.  when I realized it was not, I knew I had stumbled across a new world.

True. True.

Animation has the power to change us when we're little.
