Love both films and the score for Raiders. The Back to the Future theme is undeniably iconic, but the actual underscore rarely manages to grab my attention.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is simple one of the greatest films of all time. That is not Hyperbole. Back to the Futures is a very good film with a very good score but they exist at different altitudes. Back to the Future is always looking up.

Yes.  That's why I chose Back To The Future.

Raiders has the best score though.  Although BTTF is memorable, its too repeatative.

Great Scott.

This is heavy.

They found us. I don't know how, but they found us.

Why don't you make like a tree and get the heck outta here.

I'm your density.

It's like I'm kissing my brother.

What's a rerun?

Jesus Christ, you disintegrated Einstein.

I can't handle that kind of rejection.

What did I tell you, 88 mph!

ROADS? WHERE WE'RE GOING, WE DON'T NEED ROADS.

Listen, dad...dad...daddio,

Didn't that guy ever have hair?

Ok, this is a blues riff in D. Watch for the changes, and, er, try to keep up, ok?

Hey, Chuck, you know that new sound you're looking for? Well, listen to this!

Guess you're not ready for that, huh...but your kids are gonna love it.

What a fitting end to your life's pursuits. You're about to become a permanent addition to this archaeological find. Who knows? In a thousand years, even you may be worth something.

You want to talk to God? Let's go see him together, I've got nothing better to do.

You Americans, you're all the same. Always overdressing for the wrong occasions.

However, none of them are my favourite scores within their franchises. I love the third score in each franchise the most.

Perhaps you'd like the score to BTTF better if you listened to more than just the two tracks found on the OST. ;)

Oh, I've sampled the whole thing --- even before it was commercially released. I find it too whimsical overall, especially the action material (lots of 'starts and stops'), and the second score is even worse in that regard. So the two tracks on the OST are really all I need from that score.

The third score, however, is more coherent and setpiece-oriented, even if it's basically a straightforward western score.

Film-wise, however, none of the two sequels come close to the first film.

I LOVE both films.

I LOVE both scores.

If I have to pick, I'd pick BTTF for film.  I actually prefer to endlessly rewatch IJTOD over endless rewatching Raiders.  But I truly love rewatching all 3 films.

For score, I'd easily pick Raiders over BTTF without question.  Though again, I do love both scores.

And you know it's true. How nice. Look at this. It's worthless. 10 cents from an artist on the ship. But I take it, put it in a safe and it becomes worth a lot more by morning.

Well, Raiders of the Lost Ark is the 3rd highest rated film of all time, according to the Top 1000 most-seasoned movie reviewers. Where a public rating places it at 47th place.

https://www.imdb.com/list/ls020734622/

I don't always go for these things, but thought it might be interesting. I personally actually enjoy Back to the Future a little bit more, but on the other VS polls I agree with the majority of you guys.

As far as the score, Back to the Future is kind of embarrassing next to anything Williams has written. Silvestri has done better.

The tastes of the folks over at IMDb tend to be pretty crap. The "top 250" list over there is... hoo boy.

"I'm not some type of pleb, I’m a movie buff! My favorite movies are Fight Club, The Dark Knight, and Inception!"
