Minority Report getting rave reviews

Ebert finds it "A Masterpiece, Best Since RAIDERS!!"

Check out his interview with Spielberg! (no Williams mention)

”Spielberg's sharpest, brawniest, most bustling entertainment since Raiders of the Lost Ark and the finest of the season's action epics”

– Richard Corliss, TIME

http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101020624/review.html

"Minority Report offers the most persuasively detailed portrait modern Hollywood has created of what the United States may look like 50 years hence"

– Todd McCarthy, VARIETY

And here's a snippet from a reviewer over at AICN:

"Audio wise, John Williams shows why again he's the voice of Spielberg's movies, gelling better here than in the last couple of films he's scored (AOTC being an exception, of course)! It's a dark and suspicious score, full of mystery. No major themes spring forward and lodge in the mind, but this is a very plot heavy and dialog driven movie, so that's just the way it should be. Williams' music accentuates each scene, buidling the suspense as much as anything Cruise and company do on screen."

I know. That indeed sucks, does it not?

Marc, who wonders wether he'll have to wait as long for the soundtrack as well :cry2:

Here's hoping the reviews are correct.

Although it's hard to say that it would be his best since Raiders. That's saying a lot.

I liked A.I. a lot better the second time around than the first. If people would watch it a second time, they may like it better.

Kinda the same way Brazil is. You need to watch that movie more than a few times to really appreciate it.

I'm looking forward to Minority Report. I hope it's as good as I perceive it to be.

I agree...A.I. isn't as eccentric the second time around. It's like, "So THIS is where Hollywood's going/gone!" Of course it's typical Kubrick. His trademark is making a movie that most people won't like because the plot takes some ex theatrum thinking for, often, days on end. At least that's how it was with 2001 and Doc S. Too bad you don't get much more out of it for spending that time thinking about it.

Ebert (and Roeper) said that quote, or something really similar, on their show this weekend. Fox was already sending out Minority Report emails with the quote in huge letters (that and "two thumbs, way up!") the day the quote broke.

Ebert's review isn't online yet, but I can't wait to see what he says in it. The man is going nuts excited about it. Can't wait til Friday!!! :o
